A/N sorry this took so long

Normal POV:

It's been about a day since the little scene I had with Amity. I don't know what it is about her that drew me to her. Realistically, I could probably blame it on this body's hormones, but somehow I knew that wasn't the case. Somehow, those feelings were there before. Watching the show, she has always been my favorite character. Even when she was just introduced. There was something about her that was.......familiar? No, that's not right. Comforting? Maybe. There was something that made me want to see her in person. I just.....

My thoughts were interrupted by Amity's father. See, during the time I was away, Amity's birthday had drawn closer. I had set up my DJ station, surprisingly Eda was able to get the parts I was hoping she would, and got ready with a little difference in routine. It was difficult to get Amity's Mother to agree, but I eventually got it with some help from Ed. He faked an injury, which did not please his mother (no surprise there), and gave me the chance to do the opening dance.

"She's about the same size as Amity. It would be good to have her take my place so as to not look awkward with Father leading the dance."

Those were his exact words, though it was a bit of a stretch. But it seemed to do the trick. Now was the tricky part. So far, the only people who know about my 'true' identity besides Eda were Amity and Bump. Somehow, no one had pieced together the mask and no mask personas I have. Amity had descended the stairs in as much style as I could muster in my intent. I had been training a bit with Eda in order to get some regular spells for someone my age. In this, I learned something important that I don't think anyone else knows. Magic is all about Intent. Spells are just a focus. Kinda like in the human realm with wands being depicted in a lot of stories. *cough cough Harry Potter cough cough* Those are a way for magic users to focus their magic to one point. Eda didn't know this and well....I'll apparently be the teacher for a little bit.

Anyway, enough with that. Now was time to focus on the moment. I had just finished the introductory song. Amity's dress had changed from the bland one she had before. It was now a nice deep purple with light purple lace sleeves. There was a small gold lining around her waist that was thin and seemed to fade into her skirt and out a bit into a slightly poofy skirt that was a slightly lighter purple but still dark. Traveling up from the bottom are vines with dark blue and light purple roses with some thorns and leaves accompanying them. The skirt itself looked as though the sky itself had been sown into it. On her head was a golden tiara braided with vines wound around deep purple amethysts and dark sapphires. Her hair had been let down and some was wrapped around the sides of the tiara. Her earrings had changed into small peridot triangles that were swirled with gold dust that matched her hair and eyes. Around her eyes was her normal eyeliner and a smokey eyed look that made her smoldering eyes pop and a black lipstick staining her lips.

I took a small shuddered breath before casting a small bard illusion spell and summoning another me to play the piano before standing up to make my way over to my spot. The twins had set everything up beforehand so I wouldn't have to worry about using more of my magic than I need to. All I need to worry about is calming down.

Breathe.

Step.

Breathe.

Step

Breathe.

Step.

Soon, Amity's voice graced my ears and the queue for the song to start hit. The lights dimmed and the spotlight came on. People parted like the red sea circling around me. I straighten my posture and bring my right foot forward slightly, placing my hands behind my back and raising my head slightly. Her eyes widen as she recognizes me, her cheeks dusting with a light shade of pink. Her hands fly up over her mouth, as though she had no control over them in her shock. I had changed my mask so that half of my face was covered. I cleared my throat and smirked as I bowed, offering my hand.

"Care to dance, princessa?" My accent shines through as I speak. She snaps out of her shock before straightening up her posture again, glancing over to her parents for the go ahead and taking my hand with her dainty ones.

"It would be my pleasure." I kiss the back of her hand lightly as she curtsies and sweep her into the first position. Her cheeks become a darker shade of red as I rest my hand on her waist. The music starts and so does our waltz.

"How did you get in here, Luz?" It didn't take long for her to start questioning me in a low tone that only I could hear. I give a low chuckle that lights her cooling cheeks once again before answering in a similar tone.

"The twins actually, they wanted to find someone good enough to play the venue. I guess they thought I was worthy." I give a small snicker at that thought. Amity just sighs, rolling her eyes and muttering under her breath before addressing me again.

"Well, not that I'm not glad you're here, but how did you manage to get approval from my parents?" I gave her a smirk at this.

"I guess they couldn't resist my charm." She gave a snort and snickered at that. I smiled at her but something in the corner of my eye caught my attention. Odalia and Alador were talking to some parents and Odalia's back was facing towards us. The back of her neck was uncovered and on it, something I wasn't expecting to see much less here.

"Hey Amity?" The seriousness in my voice seemed to have startled her.

"Um..Yes?" Confusion was thick in her tone. I had to ask this quickly because our dance was nearing an end and we were coming closer to them.

"How long has your mother been acting like...." I left the end of my question open as I didn't want to sound rude. Despite how horrible she was in the show, she was still Amity's mother. She seems to realize this as well and thought for a small moment.

"Ever since I was 5. She used to be so caring and my Father was more outspoken than he is now." She sounded so sad, almost as if she was blaming herself.

"I have a feeling I know what happened, but for both our sakes I hope I'm wrong." She looks at me with shock and hope shining in her eyes making them shine like diamonds. I shake my head mentally, this isn't the time to think about that. If I'm right, everyone here is in danger. One wrong move and everything goes to heck quicker than a bush fire.

"I'm sorry to interrupt your birthday, Amity. But hopefully I can get your parents back." I gave her a small smile as my eyes kept track of Amity's mom. With that mark and this many people present, there's so may things that can go wrong in an instant. She smiles at me reassuringly as I dip her slightly, regaining the dust of rose red that had adorned her cheeks before hand.

"If there's anything I can do to help, just say the word." I think for a moment before remembering something from the show. If she can keep it up long enough I'll be able to safely transfer the mark over and destroy it without what it contains ever getting free. It could work, but we might need some help.

"Actually I think there might be something you can do." I just hope nothing goes wrong. But knowing my luck, I probably just jinxed it.
