NORA'S POV - PART 2

"I am so grateful for you, Hailey. You are a lifesaver. I swear, I will move out once I find an apartment." She smiles. There is something about her smile which puts me off but I shake that thought.

I find it hard to trust anyone lately. It's a very difficult feeling for me to trust anyone. I overthink every action, every move and person. I mean, it's obvious given that I was betrayed by someone I considered friend.

I take my handbag from the glass table and immediately search for the glasses Niko had told me to put on. I know, Niko isn't trusting Hailey and he didn't even tell me why I shouldn't trust Hailey. He just told me to go to her apartment and search for something. A photo frame or something.

I absolutely have no idea why he sent me here. He just told me to be careful about Hailey. He gave me my knives even though he hates that shit.

Kai and Niko were in a conversation about something I don't know. Kai was also being weird texting me to act like I am taking a break from a relationship. I panicked. But again he texted me in my burner phone. I have no idea how he got access to my burner phone.

"You don't have to. You are a friend. Also, once upon a time, we were roommates." I nod.

"Thanks Hailey. I feel tired, can I go to my room?" I put my hands in the pocket.

"Why not? Take some rest. I will prepare dinner." She strolls in the kitchen, putting an apron.

I walk towards my temporary room and plop on the bed.

I hope you are wrong, Niko. I desperately hope you are wrong.

I start searching the room. There needs to be something. I search the wardrobe but it's empty. The drawers are empty. Something that can prove Niko wrong.

There seems to be no secret room. I mean if she is hiding something there should be something.

I hear footsteps and immediately start unpacking my suitcase.

She knocks the door and I calm myself before I answer.

"Yeah, come in." Hailey strolls in the room wearing a black hoodie and black trackpants. Her eyes have a dark edge. I am unable to recognise her.

Niko's words run through my mind but my heart refuses to believe those words. Maybe I am stupid enough to think that he is wrong. Maybe I want to believe that girl with whom I have thousand of memories.

"I need to buy some things. Will you be okay alone?" She smiles. I nod and smile.

"You don't have to worry about me."

She walks away and the main door locks. I walk towards the living room and take a seat on the sofa. I can't search anything here because she has placed CCTV'S everywhere. How do I know!! I spotted them when I arrived here.

So, I just glance towards everything. I am damn sure that specs are recording and Niko can see through it. I bet he can hear us too.

The room is well furnished. She has chosen white for all her rooms. It's colourless. Not one shade of colour.

I start checking my emails when I hear something.
