"Kang-In Taek, long time no see."

Jake said unamused, suddenly recognising his friend from college.

"Lawyer Sim Jake. I never expected a day where I can call you something like this." Kang-In replied with a chuckle before starting to walk beside him.

A few minutes later, they arrived at a cosy looking cafe.

"I'll order something for us, what do you want?" Kang-In asked while getting his wallet out.

"Anything. I don't care." he said before storming off to a seat.

Sipping on his drink, Kang-In watched Jake silently, waiting for something, at a least a 'How have you been?'.

But just silence, Jake staring at him with a piercing glare, as if looks can kill.

Minutes go by, and he couldn't make out a reason as to why he is staring like that or what was going on in his mind before he suddenly spoke.

"Why are you here?" he said in a cold voice, clearly not wanting to see him.

"Am I not allowed to see my friend? After-"

"'Friend?' Do you really think that I'm your friend?" he cuts off before starting to chuckle.

"Why not? We've known each other since we were 15." Kang-In says in disbelief.

"So? That's all in the past. It doesn't matter anymore. So why are you here exactly, Taek? To whine about your problems to me ever since you got accused for leaking confidential information?" Jake spat, his voice sounding venomous.

Kang-In pursued his lips, anger slowly starting to boil inside him as if he was a kettle, his frustration threatening to show.

"No," he started to speak again, trying not to express his anger, continuing with a "Jaeyun-" before getting interrupted.

"Don't call me that here, Taek Kang-In. I appreciate you wanting to visit me after eight years, but I'm busy." he remarked, before standing up and starts to walk off.

"Sim Jaeyun. Are you seriously going to be like this? I know everything about you. Every single aspect of you. And I have a lot of the evidence from that one incident. I'm a reporter, I can easily-"

Jake freezes before slamming his hands onto the table, knocking over a glass in the process of doing so, and stares at Kang-In dead in the eyes; he knew what he was going to say next before spitting out in anger.

"Shut the fuck up Kang-In. I'm being serious here. If you want us to continue being friends, shut that mouth of yours about my past and let me live my life in peace. Now leave me alone, like I said earlier, I'm busy." he whispers to him before storming off.

"Jake-" Y/N starts to speak before seeing him just walk past her fuming in anger, making her confused.

"What happened?" she mumbles to herself before sighing and then hears her phone chime, showing her a notification from Gyuvin's message.

"Y/N, could you come over and tidy up your office? I need your medical records on your recent insomnia, I thought it was on the system, but it isn't. Could you find it and give it to me?"

Knowing the state of how messy her office is, she sighs before replying.

"Yeah sure, I'll let you know."

Slamming some books onto her desk, Y/N sighs, wondering how she left the room into such a state.

"Gosh, I never expected it to be so messy..." she mumbles to herself before sitting on the floor to get the papers under the desk.

However, as soon as she was about to reach over for the documents, she glimpsed at a box hidden away in the corner.

"Hm? Oh, maybe it's in that box..." she wonders, her curiosity growing every passing second.

Walking over to her bed to check the contents of the box, she slowly opens it before recognising what it was.

Instead of expecting piles of old dated documents and case files, she came across a bloodied watch, along with a tape recording, and a letter written in blood.

"W-what...w-what's this doing in here?" she stammers in shock, having no memory of putting such a thing in her room under the desk.

Shakily grabbing for her phone, she immediately calls Jake.

"J-Jake...? W-Why is my father's possessions in my study room?"
