A few days passed after the threatening phone call incident and Jake was currently tidying up the mess in the shared office.

Despite this, his mind was still occupied with the previous events that occurred, the threatening sentences repeating over and over again:

'Recognise my voice...forgot me already? I can't wait to see the look on your face.'

He tried to get the voice out of his head, as he kept thinking who the person could be.

Was it someone he already knew? Someone who was a part of a mafia group he had to deal with before? A past client? Someone who had a grudge against him?

Sighing tiredly, he slumped on his chair and sat there still, trying hard to recognise the voice as if it was a distant memory.

"I'm sure I heard that voice somewhere..." he mumbled to himself before grabbing his phone and immediately called Ethan.

"Ethan. Where are you?" he said, his voice a serious tone.

"In my office, why? Is something wrong?" Ethan replied, standing up from his seat whilst grabbing his bag and started walking out without a second thought.

"Something is definitely wrong, Come to my house, its urgent." Jake stated before ending the call and immediately started to storm out of the room.

As soon as he stepped out of the room, he bumped into Y/N who was carrying two cups of coffee for each of them, a gasp of shock was heard as it spilled onto her shirt.

"Oh- Oh my God Y/N I didn't see you there..." Jake said, his eyes widening at the accident.

"What's going on? Where are you going?" she asked, looking at him to see his hair all dishevelled from the stress he has been through from both work and the threatening phone call, as well as slight dark eyebags from the lack of sleep.

"Oh, uhm, I'm going to meet my friend, it's urgent." he replied before grabbing his wallet and hands out to her a stack of cash.

"What's this for?"

"Just take it, get a new shirt its stained with coffee."

"I don't need it, I'll just wash it when I get home-" she said before getting interrupted.

Knowing how stubborn she is, he just grabbed her hand and put the money in her palm.

"Just take it, you owe me nothing...besides, everyone would stare at you and I don't want you to get embarrassed. I'll see you later okay?" he insisted before patting her head and walked off.

Grabbing the keys from his pocket, Jake opened the door to his house, threw his bag on the floor and sighed before heading to the kitchen to get a drink and get something to eat.

Ethan isn't here yet so why not?

Rolling his sleeves up, he started to wash his hands before starting to cook a basic meal.

'Just some basic pasta and tuna would do, I'm not even that hungry' he thought to himself before putting the water to boil and goes to the fridge to grab a bottle of wine.

Whilst the pasta was cooking, Jake went downstairs to the basement of his house and started to think about how he's going to tell Ethan about the situation.
