Author's POV

A warm breeze brushed past Y/N's hair as she walked towards a cafe for her first date.

Yes.

Her first date.

Her hair was styled down in soft curls while wearing a white flowing dress that wasn't too revealing and light makeup.

It's been three years since she broke up with Jake.

Three years after being through so much hell.

Now it's time to move on from the past and start anew.

"Y/N, you're finally here." a male's voice called out as he watched her walk up to him.

"Sorry Donghyun, did I take too long?" she asked him, starting to feel a bit embarrassed thinking she was late.

"No, you're just in time..." he said, smiling while scratching the back of his head. "Come on, let's go." he said before dragging her with him into the cafe.

As soon as they walked in together, the instant smell of coffee was hit as well as freshly baked pastries, making the place feel warm and cosy.

"Let's sit here..." Donghyun said whilst pushing a chair for Y/N to sit on before sighing.

"I'll order, what would you like?"

"Uhm, a hot chocolate please..." Y/N asked with a soft smile.

"Okay, I'll be back in a few minutes." he said before going over to the counter.

Y/N's POV

As I sat down and waited for Donghyun to come back, I started to reflect on how much I've been through the past few years.

I've been through so much shit throughout my whole life.

Everything ever since I was 16 up until now, my life has been crazy.

What's crazier was that my ex-boyfriend was a killer.

I finally moved on from him after three years.

Donghyun was a guy that trained me when I first got the job and we've been close ever since, he was like a breath of fresh air: funny, handsome, honest about every small thing and knows boundaries.

I hope this works out well.

Whilst being occupied with my thoughts, I subconsciously played with the hem of my dress, not even realising that he came back with the hot chocolate, a coffee for himself and a plate of croissants and cookies.

"Hey, you okay?" he asked me while placing the cup in front of me, a slight concerned expression plastered on his face as he sat opposite me.
