Chapter 8: After affect

Linda was so shocked that Natsu had Cindy speak up, and that Cindy actually got the job she wanted as a teacher. She hadn't kept up with Cindy's work cause the woman didn't interest her like Natsu had. Of course, now it was biting her in the ass. As the people in the court room were leaving Linda went up to Natsu and Cindy as she had her hand on her hip.

"I will get my daughter back! She doesn't deserve to be around two workaholics! She deserves to be around someone who loves her and can give her the attention and care she needs! And That isn't you two!" Linda hissed out coldly

Cindy scoffed. "My niece doesn't need a whore for a mother! She needs someone who'll love an nurture her as the baby she is. You had her not even three months ago and you're opening your legs for another man. That isn't something your daughter should be around or have to see. I'm glad that you've divorced my brother and that when that finally goes through that he'll be through with you cause I never liked you in the first place. You're nothing more than a greedy, lustful brat that takes what you want and gives nothing back in return."

Natsu then spoke up. "By the way I already sold your wedding ring back to where it was sold from to get the money back from it. From that I am going to start a savings account for My daughter. I've changed and locked everything you ever had access to because of me. You're going to have to survive how I did when I first left Cindy, which was my first mistake. I never should have ignored my sisters pleads and cries towards me to not marry your even date you. She saw what I couldn't and now I'm paying for it with what all I have left. Nami will be loved and cared for more with my sister and I than she ever could with you."

Linda stomped her foot on the ground. "GIVE ME MY DAUGHTER! SHE'S MY BABY!"

Cindy rolled her eyes before she took Nami from Natsu and placed her back in her seat before grabbing her. "Not a chance, all of her things are with us. You have nothing for her and nothing is what you'll get until you grow the fuck up." Cindy said before she looked to Jafar who was waiting for them.

"Jafar dear, can you help me out with Nami?"

Jafar went towards where they were and blocked Linda's way from getting anywhere near Cindy as she walked off with her niece pulling her brother out behind her. Cindy couldn't help but chuckle as she heard Linda's screeching and yelling for her to stop and give her the child. When they were far enough Jafar ran to meet up with them. Once they were out of the court house Natsu hugged his sister before he sadly smiled at her.

"Thanks a lot sis, I don't know what I'd do without you."

"You'd be in deep shit. That's what. Now telling what's your plan now?"

"Well...I've been given the week off since I told my boss what's been going on. I've never taken my vacation time off so he's forcing me to do so now. Just I don't know what to do in that time." Natsu said rubbing the back of his neck.

Cindy pushed the baby seat into her brother's chest. "You have a daughter, you're a doctor. And your wife cheated on you. Why not be sure this child is even yours to start off with. You don't know how long she's been fucking that Judar guy behind your back. For all you know this child is his."

Natsu frowned but nodded his head. "I understand...but what after that?"

She face palmed herself."Oh my fucking god Natsu! Play with your daughter. Bond with her for fuck sakes! If you want to show Linda that you can love and take care of your daughter then you need to be actively involved in your daughters life! You need to make damn sure that Linda has no loop holes for her to snake her way through cause the moment she does is the moment that you'll be screwed over Natsu!"

Natsu teared up hearing his elder sister shout at him. "B-But...I don't have the loving and caring touch that you do sis. I...I don't know the first thing about parenting."

"You never went to parenting courses did you?" Cindy asked

He shook his head. "Linda never did either."

"Then that's something I can help you through, being that I am legally obligated to be around children, as is Jafar. I will do what I can to help you through this." Cindy said calmly as she placed a hand on her chest where her heart was.

"I can help as well, it might not be easy being a father at first, but you'll see it's not as hard as it looks."

Natsu looked at him confused. "What are you talking about? You don't have children."

"My two cats...They're like children to me, taking care of them is like taking care of two feline children. They need to be fed, taken care of, bathed, loved and played with." Jafar explained

Natsu's eyes widen. "Wow...really?"

"Yeah. It was hard at first since my black cat has always been a little shite to his sister and doesn't like to be nice to her when she gets a lot more attention than he does." Jafar said with a sigh

Cindy chuckled a bit. "Sounds like you had a bit of a problem on your hands back then huh?"

"Yeah more than a little." Jafar said looking to her before looking back to Natsu. "Cindy and I have the rest of the day off cause of this court date. So we'll go with you to where you need to go and help you where you need help. But some things you'll have to learn as you go."

Cindy nodded her head in agreement. "Once you know if Nami is even yours or not then you can go about how to deal with the situation at hand."

"Alright then...Um...I took a taxi here."

Cindy face palmed herself. "Why didn't you take your car?"

Natsu sighed. "It was in both Linda and I's name and I couldn't change it without her there. So I sold it and it was after that-that I had done the whole savings thing cause it was worth a lot."

"Boy you're dumb. Before we do anything you're getting a car so you can have a way to get to work and back. Plus that's something she won't be able to take from you if it's just in your name." Cindy said as she placed her hand on her face.

Natsu nodded his head before they went to Jafar's car and he took the four of them to the car dealership that he went to get his own car. They were there for over an hour as Natsu tried to find a baby friendly car that wouldn't be too bulky due to where he worked. He didn't want his car to blend in with the rest of the cars in the lot. So he found a rather light purple car that he liked that was a neon. He wrote a check for his cars down-payment and the first down-payment for the car. Once he was done he was given the keys and he thanked Jafar and Cindy for waiting for him.

Natsu then took Nami as he went to his work place, Cindy and Jafar weren't that far behind him, Jafar held onto Cindy's hand gently and that made her smile a bit knowing that he was beside her and that he was trying to show her how much he really cared for her. Which was something she really needed while trying to help her dumb younger brother. He may have book smarts-but street smarts? Nope, not in the slightest.

When the four of them got into the doctors office even though Natsu knew the nurses and such there he was nervous asking a person who he knew very well about something very small. Cindy saw this and placed a hand on his shoulders. "Hello ma'am, Natsu is going through a rather hard time right now."

"Oh the entire hospital staff knows. Just what does he need now?" The nurse asked looking up from his computer, his eyes locked hers and he grinned. "Well aren't you a cutie."

"Not interested, taken thank you. Natsu here needs to get a paternity test done. His wife cheated on him, he needs to see if his daughter Nami really is in fact his daughter." Cindy said seriously

"Oh crap, yeah that could cause some problems. Let me see what we can do sit tight let me go and talk to a few people and I'll get back to you."
