Chapter 13: Surprise big sis!

When the four got home Cindy placed Nami down for a nap before she went to make lunch for herself. Natsu and Ja'far both went to deal with the legal work of things leaving the two alone in the house. Cindy listened to music as she ate her lunch while she was in the living room with the sleeping baby. As time went on she fell asleep listening to the music only to wake up to Ja'far in front of her. She gave him a weak smile as he smiled back at her.

"Get yourself together Cin, we're going out tonight for dinner."

She nodded her head happily before she changed what she wore rather quickly.When she finished she left out with Ja'far, she saw that Nami and Natsu were waiting for them by Ja'far's car but didn't question it. She was helped into the car by Ja'far as she sat in front with him. Natsu and his daughter sat in the back, nothing was really said on the way to the restaurant mainly because Ja'far and Natsu wanted to surprise her.

Ja'far knew what place Cindy loved the most when they were going up, so that's where he took her out to eat. When Cindy realized where they were going she looked at Ja'far confused as he parked his car. Ja'far knew the look on her face and smiled at her. "Don't worry, everything will be explained before the night is out. I promise."

She nodded her head slightly before they left the car. Ja'far held onto her hand tightly as they went into the restaurant. Once they were seated drinks and food were ordered Natsu held his sisters hands in his across the table.

"So you know how I told you that I would let you know when we found a procedure that would help you get your voice back sis?"

Cindy looked at him confused, she nodded her head slightly. Natsu squeezed her hands and smiled at her. "We found one, I'll be able to do it two weeks from now!" He said happily

Cindy's brown eyes widen in shock before she teared up and covered her mouth. Natsu smiled even more. "I want you to have your voice back sis. Don't worry I'll be the one doing the procedure on you, it's one that I've done a few times. I will have to place you under for a bit, but when you wake up you will have your voice back I promise."

Cindy got up and she hugged her younger brother tightly and kissed him repeatedly on his cheek happily. Natsu laughed and smiled at her sister. "Alright, Alright. I get it you love me sis. Come now you're going to make Ja'far jealous."

Cindy looked to Ja'far who was pouting a bit, she smiled a bit at him before she sat down again and pulled on his tie to kiss him on the lips before she leaned against his arm with a smile on her face. He hugged her tightly and kissed the top of her head. For the rest of Dinner Natsu talked to Cindy about what would happen to her and how things happened how they had.

Apparently Natsu's supervisors looked over what had happened to her and figured out the best way to save her from being completely mute was to have him do the operation that had saved many people from losing their voices as well that had a 70% success rate. Cindy knew that Natsu would do well and trusted her brother do to what was best not only for her but for his carrier as well.

After dinner that night Cindy fell asleep with a bit of hope in her, hope that one day she'd be able to get her voice back and be able to be herself once more. She was sick and tired of silent crying herself to sleep due to feeling hopeless and useless. She wanted to go back to working at the school again-she wanted to be able to see the smiling faces of the children again. But she knew as long as she didn't have a voice she couldn't teach. She hoped it would end after what her brother would do for her.
