Rudy, me and Maisie are at my apartment laughing and joking when suddenly the door knocks with some unexpected visitors unknowingly to the two of us the type of sick offer they were about to be offered, As the two continued laughing and joking, the unexpected knock on the door caught them off guard. Rudy's face twisted into a slight frown.

"Who could that be? We weren't expecting anyone," he said, making his way towards the door.

Meanwhile, I glance at Maisie, who was playing on the floor, blissfully unaware of the surprise visitors.

"Maybe it's just a the cast or something," I suggested, trying to remain calm.

Rudy reached the door and opened it, revealing four figures standing on the other side. Upon seeing the visitors two of which being my mom and dad, the other two are unfamiliar to Rudy, but not to me it's my sister and her now husband, Rudy's expression turned more puzzled.

He hesitated for a moment before greeting them, "Can I help you?"

Megan, my mother, stepped forward with a warm but cruel smile on her face. She gestured towards Danny and Isabelle.

"Hello,This is Isabelle and Danny ," she introduced the two unfamiliar people. "We were passing by and thought we'd drop in for a visit. Hope we're not intruding."

I look back at Maisie who's playing and stand up walking towards the door
"What do you want?, you can't just abandon me for Two years while I needed you, you wasn't there so don't even try appear now. I say to my parents and my sister, her husband Danny just stands there, my moms expression softens but she still has the cruel look in her eyes, all the while my dads stood there showing not one bit of emotion

"Layla, we know we weren't there for you during a difficult time. We're here now to make up for it," she says like she can't wait to get this over with.

Isabell ,my sister, chimes in, her tone cautious but somewhat softer than my mother's.

"We've been thinking about you and your daughter. We want to be part of your lives, to be grandparents and auntie to Maisie."

"No you only want her now because you can't have kids isa, I was okay going through a pregnancy alone, through labour alone, through every bit of that alone along with having nothing but the clothes on my back because you kicked me out with nothing so no you can't just expect me to let you into my life and my daughters life"

My mom and Isabelle exchanged uncomfortable but cruel glances. Danny, sensing the strained atmosphere, took a step forward.

"Layla, I get you're upset, and you've been through a lot. But we're all family here," he says gently. "Please don't shut us out."

"First respectfully I don't owe you shit, I don't know you. You just happen to be dating my sister, and secondly stay out of this"

my father added, his voice stern, "We've made mistakes, big ones. We know we can't change the past, but we can do better in the present and future."

"Like hell you will. Not any one of you are gonna be anywhere near my child" I say

I look at Rudy and mouth "go check on Maisie please" he nods and does so walking towards the living room where Maisie is

Danny held his hands up in surrender, not wanting to escalate the situation further. My mom's eyes welled with anger as she tried to reason with me.

"We're your family, Layla. Families make mistakes, but ultimately, they forgive each other and move forward together."
