Warning: Cursing, Mentions of possible racism between species
Okay, so, this is my first self-insert story. No, I will not have any romance between myself and other characters, everything is either family oriented or platonic, I DO NOT feel comfortable having any romantic relations with any of them, please respect that. If you can't, PLEASE LEAVE.
With that out of the way, please enjoy the book.
"Are you sure, you want to move to China?" Kieran asked with a frown, watching as their friend--basically sibling--packed the last of her bags, as he got ready for the move to their new home. "I mean, the Boogle searches weren't very straightforward when you looked up if this city there was inter-species friendly Cai. What if you're bullied?"
Giving a chuckle, the Bird-Beast turned around after zipping up his bag, flashing his fox sibling a grin, "I mean, it's kinda' late for second guesses Kieran, I've already confirmed my flight, and bought out a years lease in the third-floor apartment."
"Still, why China?"
"The culture, the food, the rich history," Counting off fingers as they listed a few options, Cai shrugged as they stood up, taking the younger's hand in theirs, and began walking out of their now vacant room, an echo bouncing off the walls. "I mean, and they're even next door neighbors to the birthplace of anime! What more could you want?"
"Confirmation that you won't be beaten on sight," The three tailed fox deadpanned, tails slumping to the ground as xie pouted, crossing xier arms and grumpily trailing behind the slightly taller flying beast, through the hall and down the stairs to the front door. "I still don't understand why I couldn't come with you."
An amused snort escaped the elder of the two, "Because, Kieran, you're still young and in the middle of high school, and I want you to graduate, that's why....plus your grandmother would kill me."
That last part was muttered to themself.
"You could always sneak me out of the country.~"
"Ha! Over my dead body, literally, because again, your grandmother would track me down and end me before we even reached the gate," Going from a sarcastic laugh, right into a deadpan, Cai left no more room for arguing, which only made the fox spirit pout even more, the OOber car pulling up, and the driver getting out to help put the bags in the car. "Trust me Kieran, everything will be fine. I took those Mandarin classes for a reason, besides, I can always tuck in my features, it's what our kind has been doing since forever."
"You shouldn't have to hide your features Cai, that's why you should stay here in America," Trying one last desperate attempt, the fox used the baby kit eyes. "Pleeeeaasseeee??"
"No, love you!~" Deadpanning before wishing xier sibling goodbye, Cai gave one last hug and hopped into the car, somehow managing to squeeze the long feathered tail and two large pairs of wings into the car, and waving out the back window as the car drove away. "I'll call you when the plane lands, since you never seem to sleep you feral gremlin!"
Kieran flipped him off, though it was in a loving manner.

Standing in front of the three story building, Cai checked the address, then re-read the name on the sign, Pigsy's Noodles, "Huh, cute."
Entering the building, she called out, only to yelp and dodge a flying wooden spoon, thankful for being able to retain her bird instincts despite the evident lack of features, "U-um....hello?"
