Warning: Cursing, Violence
Did you know, that crows hold funerals or 'wakes', if or when they happen to find another dead crow, calling out to others of their kind nearby to come and pay respects as well. This helps them grow 'Crow communities' and know the locations and its predators to avoid in the future.
Did I look up food cats can and can't eat for this chapter? Yes, yes I did. I didn't want to give out false information.
Cai hummed along to the song of '2econd 2ight 2eer' by Will Wood, as he crocheted in his beanbag chair with a smile, looking down at the little brown monkey plush in his hands, before a thought occurred to him. Placing his tools down, the Bird Beast grabbed his phone and dialed MK's number, holding it up to xier ear as a familiar voice answered from the screen.
"Hey Cai, what's up?"
"You know how I've been crocheting animals lately?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, I was going to make a monkey next since I'm doing the Zodiac, and I decided that I'd also do you and Mei as your animals! You think you two could stop by when you're free to give me input? I'll text you when I'm done with the first design."
"That sounds so cool! Sure! I'll stop by when you do!"
Hanging up, they went back to crocheting when the sound of angry cawing got her attention, sighing and putting down her tools, Cai stopped the music, walking over to the window and opened it up, calling to Albus. The bird in question, perched on her window with an angry caw, explaining that the Murder had found an intruder on their roof.
Raising a brow, the third floor resident rose a brow before sighing and climbing out the window onto the fire escape, climbing up the ladder to where she saw them surrounding an angry looking cat, who had a scar on their eye. Approaching, he shooed away the angry birds, who landed nearby with narrowed eyes, not trusting the intruder.
Holding out a hand, Cai showed the cat a gentle smile, "Hey there lil' one, you okay? Sorry about the murder, they're very protective."
Hesitating, the cat seemed to sniff a bit at xier hand before leaning into it with a purr, making the Bird Beast smile, cooing at how adorable their new furry friend was.
"I should probably take you to Sandy to get you checked out, and to ask Pigsy if it's okay to have furry friends in the apartment," Gently picking up the cat, Cai took note of his practically golden eyes, ebony black fur scar over one eye. "You're a fighter aren't ya' hun? That scar definitely says so."
Climbing back down into the apartment and closing her window, the artist made their way to the main door and slid on his flip flops before going down the stairs--making sure to grab their things--greeting Tang before going into the back to talk to Pigsy.
"Hey Mr. Pigsy, what's your policy on pets?"
"Huh? Why'd ya' ask--oh," Spotting the content cat in xier arms, the pig man seemed to think for a bit before answering. "So long as they've got their shots, and aren't full of fleas, I'm fine with them....just make sure they don't come into the kitchen, health codes and all."
"Gotcha'. Hear that Sirius? No going into the kitchen."
"Sirius? Like that dog dude from those wizard books you read?" Scratching his head, Pigsy pointed out the cat's new name with a raised brow.
"Yeah! Seems to fit him," Smiling with pride, Cai set xier new roommate down, who just sat next to them with a contented purr.
"Why not Leo?" Tang said, having gotten off his usual stool to join them in the kitchen, moving to pet Sirius, only to yank his hand back when the cat hissed at him. "Nevermind, he's a Sirius, and he definitely, is playing favorites."
