We wraping up

Let's get it

The rumours died down after a few days, which showed that our spontaneous plan had worked. People were out of our hairs quickly, and the stares died down.

There was just one thing that caused occasional stares, no one other than Reya.
Since our encounter in the cafeteria hallway, she has been coming to say hi to Jamie and I.

It’s the usual small talk, but it still garnered attention to us. Reya and I talk a lot now, and sometimes she calls when it's appropriate. She didn’t share much, mostly asking about me and how things her with my family.

I caught on that she didn’t talk much about her home, I asked her once about family and her mother and she went silent for a minute before replying robotically that she never knew her mother and that it was only her father she had.

My brows furrowed at her answer, and I apologised immediately. I felt a smile in her words as she told me it was fine.

“Yeah, I mean no, it was wrong of me to pry. I’m sorry.” I apologised again. I hear her sigh and turn on her bed.

“Its fine Lo” I smile at the use of her nickname. It was weird but cute kinda weird, so I didn’t complain, Jamie just had to find other ways to tease me about it.

“it’s just been my dad and I since I was little, so he is all I’ve got” she explains, her tone low.

“yeah” I mutter low, just loud enough for her to hear me through the phone. I sigh.

I don’t know what it's like to not have a mum, but I know I would freak out hell my dad might go crazy cause he’s all about her.

I couldn’t find the words to console her, so I tried to change the topic. I didn’t know how to approach the subject of her loss, considering that she said she barely knew her mother.

“So, um, would you like to go on another date?” I hear her breath, and I shut my mouth waiting for her reply she stays silent again that I count my breaths.

“Sure” she finally replied, “I will let you know when I’m free”.

“Excellent, I will clear my schedule for you, so consider me open and free of use this week.” She chuckles at my words, and I laugh as well. Our breaths hitch when we both hear a loud slam.

“REYA!! GET DOWN HERE NOW.” My brows squeeze. What the fuck was that? Is that her father? At the sound of his voice, Reya sighs.

Her tone and breathing feels like she is used to it and its not the first time she had heard him yell at her. Is her father abusing her?

I hear loud stomping and hear Reya sigh again.

“You know what?” she finally speaks answering softly that I had to press my phone harder to my ear to listen.

“I’ll take you up on that offer see you tomorrow.”

“wai-” before I could reply I hear her door swing open loudly and a growl follows. Growl??

“Didn’t I ca-” the phone hung up before her father could finish his sentence. What the hell was that what is going on? Is she being abused, why isn’t she saying anything?

I don’t know what is going on nor do I really understand the dynamics of her family but one thing I know for sure is my feelings for her, I would not let anything happen to her and I will make sure of that even if it means facing the monster clothed in skin and claiming to be her father.

I will protect Reya.

Another short chapter, apologies but the next few chapters will mostly be drama so be ready for a few fights and confrontation.

Thoughts?? We finally get to see Loren and Reya communicating. Loren also learns about Reya’s father. Hopefully, he doesn’t try to be a hero, or does he? Who knows, we will find out soon enough.

Don’t forget to like, vote and comment.

Bye
