"What are you doing in here?"
The burly man with slimy hair did not answer. Unlike few hours ago, his mouth wasn't sewn anymore and this time he wore his jackal or dog headdress. He pursed his lips, gulped few times as if contemplating to take any decision. But the demi god was impatient and did not have time to deal with his half-brother's shit.
"If you don't have anything to say then don't block the path like a moron, unlike you I don't have much free time."
Horus brushed past Anubis to walk on further but he was once again held back by Anubis.
"I-I know w-where he is." Horus looked back, his blue eyes shinning intensely in the dark. "I-I know where Seth is, I--"
"Did my father ordered you to do all this? or was it my mother this time?"
"N-no that's not--"
"Save it Anubis." Horus raised to hand to hush the other god. "I know that you have ascended god-hood because of my father and you do not obey anybody other than him. So save your bullshit and go away."
But the god of afterlife was persistent and the demi god was equally stubborn. Finally Anubis transformed into a huge canine and when Horus tried to escape, he caught a hold of the struggling giant falcon's leg and started to run in full speed towards an unknown direction.
"Abomination!"
"Evil god!"
"Save me!"
"Mom, I'm scared.."
"Why did you do this to us?"
"Evil god!"
Surrounded by voices from all sides, Seth was on the verge of going crazy. All the voices were cursing him, openly showing their resentment, trying to drag him down along with them to an unknown oblivion of suffering. But amongst all these dark, cold creatures only one voice made him go on, the voice that he was so familiar with, the voice that had soothed him in his hardest times as rookie idol, the voice that belonged to someone extremely dear to him, the voice of someone whom he regrettably failed to protect.
"Reijin...." Pearl like tears rolled down his eyes. A woman who shared the same physical features as him stood at a distance. Seth knows that she is an illusion. Seth knows that she is no more. Seth knows that she'll never come back. Seth knows.
But still, even if she's an illusion created by devil, he'd gladly enter into that trap to at least encircle himself with her warmth and optimism, that'd somehow made him always feel secure and calm.
However, what this illusion of Park Reijin provided was not soothe and warmth but sneer and cold gaze that made Seth stop in his tracks. The dark creatures behind him were gaining speed but at this point he cared less about them. Slowly the silhouette of Reijin stepped forward nad grasped Seth's cheeks. Then with an inhuman howl, her head fell back and slowly it resituated into its original position with blood streaming down from the black sockets of the eyes.
"Did you have fun killing me Seth?" The figure of Reijin cocked its head to one side all the while smiling creepily. "Was it fun to kill me like you did those innocent women?" Seth shook his head, his tears rolling down endlessly.
"No no I--"
"Seth~" Reijin's cold creepy voice shifted to the warm one; "I want to live. I don't want to die. I want to love, live and get married happily. Will you make me a human again?"
Shaking his head, this time, the crying man started to laugh hysterically. He laughed till he wheezed and coughed but his giggling continued; "What's so funny Seth? Do you find my wish to be funny?" Now again the illusion became agitated. "Oh is that why you won't grant my wish? So you're actually happy that I died?"
"Now now," The god of war spoke calmly; "Let's not get ahead too much, Isis." He wiped the tears that had fallen from his eyes.
"What nonsense--!"
"It is not nonsense. I must admit that all these illusions almost fooled me but...but you missed one liiitle detail about Park Reijin. She sacrificed herself willingly knowing fully well what awaits for her in the end, so there's no way that she'll regret her choice; secondly, she never ever called me Seth. She'd always call me Ryujin."
To her, I wasn't Seth, the god of war but Park Ryujin, her brother.
The illusions, including the crowd of cursing spirits stopped and started to tremble and shake as if they're shivering from tremendous cold and it was then everything broke into innumerable pieces making Seth open his eyelids as if they were the heaviest thing in the world.
His hands were tied at his back but his vision was black. Either he is in some place where the light doesn't shine or his eyes are covered in some black cloth or, worst case he has been blinded. First it was Osiris who tied him up with chains and now his wife too....what's with this couple's obsession with chains?
Seth didn't have to wait for long though for his ears picked up the gradual sound of murmurs just like when the curtain of an opera house is lifted for a play to begin. If his hunch is right, this might be another trial in front of the entire Ennead...his second play of life. His vision was restored the dark cloth was ripped off from his eyes by someone. When his eyes adjusted to the sudden brightness of the trial arena, he saw the voluptous figurine of Ra, sitting on her chair leisurely, her eyes fixed, waiting for the fun to begin; some other deities were also present beside her.
They were none other than Isis, his sister and sister-in-law, Nephthys, his wife and Maat, the goddess of justice.
"Ah, long time no see, O Great Gods and Goddesses!" Seth couldn't help but speak first. He remembered being in the same position when the trial of him committing several sins was conducted, where he was ostracized, cursed and punished. Yet, no one, absolutely no one ever tried to dig deep as to why Seth turned out to be 'evil' as they say. The sun god, even though she tried to allow Seth to speak the truth, but at that time, he became tongue tied out of fear, shame and loss of his pride as a man for being dominated by Osiris for one night, that too for his son, who is not of his own blood.
Seth had chosen to remain quiet all about it. He had accepted all the punishment that was meted out to him. He endured all the sufferings thinking that it was the way to atone his sins. All the humiliation that he put the women of Egypt out of rage towards Isis were paid back to him tenfold--he endured them all.
But when Osiris approached him again, spewing bullshit about loving him, about joining him as his concubine, Horus interfered them thus causing a war between father and son. Seth didn't want that. Seth didn't want the demi-god, Horus to get harmed by his own father; moreover Egypt needed a new capable king and Horus was the perfect candidate for that.
A sinner like him should stop causing disruption.
So he made his choice.
Self-destruction.
Seth didn't know if he'd be able to do that but the black beady bracelet on his wrist made it possible. He had already figured it out that the more he uses his godly powers the more he suffers mentally and physically due to the bracelet that conceals and suppresses his powers. Disobeying the bracelet's dominance would only bring ruin and suffering and Seth was ready for that because he had had enough.
Osiris approaching him once again and almost forcing himself on the latter was the last straw.
Seth thought that erasing his existence would stop everything but he was wrong. Neither Horus' love for him decreased nor did Osiris' obsession towards him.
They won't end until he puts an end to these.
