Again, I get my translations from Google, with exception of Creole....I was born here, but raised by Haitian natives. So the translations could be off, that's on google translate not me. I just wanna incorporate the characters culture......

Prayer for all my zoe readers and their families safety in the midst of the war (basically) that's happening in Haiti right now..... 🇭🇹 #ayiticheri💞

"Aye.....let's call him right now before we leave....." I looked at my brother, walking down the stairs. I looked at my watch and saw that there was still time to fit in a call.

"Yeah....." Kairo took two more glass cups and filled them both with Hennessy, the ladies and kids were still upstairs and the ladies alone are gonna take an extra hour to finish getting ready. "Oyé.....!" Kairo yelled out to our dad. Our parents and Eddy's would stay with the kids......with Eddy and his girlfriend.

This an 8 bedroom house.....so there's space.....

"What....?" Pops came around another corner and I got to the bottom of the stairs. We both took our cups and I looked at my brother, standing next to dad.

"Tell him, before you call him....." Kairo said English and pops looked at both of us in confusion.

He's right.....we're sure Flaco's doing business with his dad now and Pacheco could be around him when we call. There won't be any tension between our dads, pops just didn't like what Pacheco was doing.....but me and my brother never saw beef between them. Last time I spoke to Pacheco....he hadn't seen my parents in a couple years and that's cuz they ended up moving here with my brother. Me or Kairo haven't heard pops mention Pacheco, which has us think that maybe pops haven't talked to him since either.

"Tell me what.....?" Pops said in his broken English.

Me and Kairo were born here in the states and helped our parents in the language. Mom caught on way faster than pops and my brother told me that after moving here, he was comfortable enough to leave them alone. It has improved a lot since I remember, the accent is still thick and pops does need Spanish frequently to understand what someone is saying. Spanish is such a heavy language for us and we do see it easier for pops to understand.

"You remember Pacheco......?" I asked him. There was an understanding on his face, pops looked away and drank from his cup.

"Qué hay de él.....? (What about him.....?)" He asked the both of us.

I'm sure it's burning in the back of my brother's mind, like it is with mines. Our parents or Pacheco never mentioned what happened between our dads, but Pacheco was always so grateful to pops....he always came around us with Flaco. I used to usually overhear them, when Pacheco used to always pull pops to the side and offer help, pops always declined.
