My smile faded to a frown when a moving truck pulled up to the front of my house. My heart slowed down and probably sunk a little. Today couldn’t be the day Ryan moves we barley had anytime to hang out this summer. He just couldn’t leave now. I looked over at Rose and Chelsea who had that same frown as I did on their faces. I’m sure they were thinking the same thing also. It wouldn’t be the same without Ryan around. It was so hard for all of us loosing Hanley but now Ryan wouldn’t be around anymore. He wouldn’t be with us for our junior year. Sure we said we would see each other, but it wouldn’t be the same seeing each other everyday.
Ryan hopped out of the truck and walked over to us. His red, puffy eyes hinted he’s been crying for awhile. Tears threatened to fall from all of our eyes as pulled us all into a hug. Chelsea was the first one that had tears fall over the brim of her eyes first, then we all stared crying. “This isn’t goodbye guys” Ryan sobbed.
“We know, we’re just going to miss you” I whipped my tears away with the back of my hand. “A lot”
“You’re our best friend Ryan it better not be goodbye” Rose laughed a little. Ryan laughed also. “Make sure you visit us sometime this summer because we hardly got to hang out”
“My mom said when we get settled in our new house we’ll be here” Ryan smiled. It felt good to see his smile. He hasn’t smiled one of his perfect smiles since Hanley passed away. Ryan’s mom honked the horn, telling Ryan to hurry up.
“I guess I have to go” Ryan frowned.
“Have fun at your new school, and find a hot boyfriend” Rose laughed. Ryan laughed back.
“Thanks guys” We hugged one last time before Ryan started walking away.
“Bye” We all shouted together.
“Like I said this isn’t goodbye more… like talk to you later” Ryan laughed.
Rose, Chelsea and I looked at each other. “Talk to you later!” We yelled as Ryan got back into the truck the horn honked as they drove away.
“I’m going to miss him” Rose frowned.
“Meee too” I smiled. I knew we’re all going to see each other again but no matter what I was going to miss him.
The rest of the day went fast and not to mention the rest of the summer! It flew by but it was fun. Going to amusement parks, swimming almost all summer, camping, going to the beach with Reagan and her family and just hanging out at my house really made the summer fly by.
Sadly that meant next week is the first week of our junior year of high school. And Elias’s senior year. I was a little sad, Elias wanted to move out when he graduates because he knows our family is all okay now, everyone except me and Adria, but I don’t think we will ever be okay. He said he wouldn’t move far so he can always come and visit me. He just didn’t want to be like Adria she still lives at our house and she’s a royal pain in the butt. Our mom wishes she could kick her out but she doesn’t want to hurt Adria.
“Last week of high school” I pouted sitting next to Jayden. We were laying on the couch watching a random movie we found in the movie case. I handed him the bowl of popcorn.
He grabbed a handful stuffing it into his mouth. He eats a lot but yet again he’s soo skinny! When he was down chewing he said, “But that means there’s only one more year of high school left!” Jayden let out a girly ep I think he was mocking Chelsea.
I laughed, “True but I don’t want to go back to high school” I frowned.
Jayden put his finger under my chin and made me look at him. “But that mean’s we get to see each other everyday again” He smiled. He had a point His uncle and aunt wouldn’t let him come see me lately. Honestly, I don’t think they like me.
“ That also means we have to deal with… Jordan and… Vince” It kind of hurt to say there names. For the past two weeks Vince has been sending me text messages. Lets not say good text messages. I can’t believe I met him at a store in the wall, then he came to our school, I started liking him and then met Jayden. Sure Vince is nice and all but he’s a little demanding. He might have turned out to be a little Jordan.
Jordan has been -thankfully- staying away since Jayden broke his nose. I’m a little afraid of him at school. That’s when Jayden isn’t always near me he can do anything. Jayden and I watched the rest of the movie, then he had to go home. I hoped we would see each other again before school starts. His aunt is planning on going back to Maine though before school starts so they can see his sisters baby. So I guess that means I wont be able to see him again before school starts. I had the feeling she planned that trip because she doesn’t want us to see each other but that might be ridicules. Who doesn’t want to see an adorable little baby?
I crawled up to my bed, since I have been staying up till 2 my mom says I need to get back to my schedule of going to bed at 11 again and waking up at 6.
Not tried I sat on my bed listening to music until my mind drifted off into space and I was thinking about everything. Jordan and Vince, Jayden and I, Elias and Adria, my junior year after a while I finally fell asleep.
