Chapter 9: The Funeral

"Mom there's a boy in Scarlett's bed!" I was awaken by Adria's annoying voice. I looked at Jayden who was sound asleep. He must be a hard sleeper like Elias. I heard my mom shush Adria.

"Scarlett had a rough day yesterday let them sleep" My mom said.

"Why don't you ever let my boyfriends sleep over?" Adria's whinny voice faded.

"Was that your sister?" Jayden yawned. and stretched.

"Sadly did she wake you up?" I turned towards him.

"No I was already awake I was just waiting for you to wake up" Jayden wrapped his arm around me.

"No you weren't you were snoring" I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Scarlett there's someone here to see you!" I heard my mom yell from downstairs.

"Coming!" I yelled back hopping out of bed. I was hopping it was Chelsea or Rose I can really use a hug from them. I don't understand why there mad at me or even Ryan he didn't do anything. Thinking of Ryan made my eyes tear up I can imagine what he's going threw and his mom.

"Stay here I'll be right back" I said walking down stairs. When I got there I saw Ryan standing by the door looking absolutely horrible his eyes were puffy and red along with his checks. I ran up to him hugging him. He wrapped his arms around me like he never have before I knew he needed this hug.

"H-how are you?" Ryan whipped his eyes with his sleeve. I shook my head hugging Ryan again tears fell from my eyes. He put his arms around me crying also. We hugged for awhile until Ryan's mom called both of us over. Still crying we sat at the table with my mom and Ryan's mom.

"We know this is very hard on everyone especially you two" My mom said Ryan's mom nodded her head trying not to cry.

"But we all need to be strong for... for Hanley's sake" Ryan's mom managed to say you can tell it's hard for her to say Hanley's name. 

"Scarlett if you think you can take it Hanley's funeral will be this weekend" My mom rested her hand on mine.

"I need to be there for Ryan I'm not going to leave him Hanley was my best friend to I would be ashamed of myself if I didn't go" I said looking at Ryan who was crying even harder.

"Thank you so much Scarlett" Ryan's mom hugged me. I hugged back then we had like a group hug in the middle of my kitchen until we broke apart because there was a really loud thud up stairs fallowed by Elias yelling.

"Jayden" I said to myself running up stairs. When I got to my room Elias was standing over Jayden his fist held out. I looked at Jayden who looked terrified and had a bloody nose. Before Elias could swing again I grabbed his arm.

"Elias what are you doing!" I yelled.

"Why is he in you're room? What did he do to you! Why is he wearing my clothes?" Elias yelling.

"He's my boyfriend and he's in my room because I really need a friend right now because my best friend just died and he was the only one that I could talk to!" I yelled "He's wearing your clothes because I said he could!" 

"Who died?" Elias automatically turned back into that loving brother he always was. I looked at Jayden who stood up and walked into the bathroom.

"Hanley" I said. Elias' jaw dropped.

"I'm so sorry" Elias walked over to me giving me a hug.

"Is everything okay?" A muffled voice came from the doorway.

"Ryan" Elias said breaking from the hug and walking over to Ryan pulling him into a hug. "I'm so sorry" Ryan folded into Elias' hug sorta like I always do when I have a bad day. I did always tell him he gives the best hugs. I felt arms wrap around me scaring me a bit but I remembered Jayden was in the bathroom so it was probably just him when he came out.
