I narrowed my eyes at the medium size house. They weren't home, only the sound of Adria's loud voice echoed as she talked with someone probably on the phone. I guess I would have to come back later, much later. Surly Scarlett's parents wouldn't let me just walk into the house after they found out I hurt their perfect daughter. I laughed as I remembered Elias I would have no problem getting past him after I knocked him out with a simple punch to the face. He thinks he's so tough. I balled my hands into a fist. I can't believe I was in juvenile detention for almost a year! I'm so glad they let me out early. A chill crept up my back as the horrid year came back into my mind. If school wasn't already boring try being locked to a desk having to stare at a wall. No way was a ever going back to that place.
As I walked away from the house my phone rang. "Hello?" I asked.
"Did you do it?" Abigail asked. Bring a juvenile delinquent wasn't so bad with Abigail by my side. I guess you can say she's like my girl friend. She was in there because she spray painted a few things on a public building and punched a cop. Sounded fun.
"She's not home I'll do it later" Even since I was put into that hell hole I was planning on how I was going to get back at Scarlett. Why they have such places for teens I will never know. I'm sure jails not much better though.
"That sucks. It'll probably be better at night anyways" She had a point. No way was I getting in there without being caught.
"True we'll I'll call you back later" I said when I heard her say bye I hit the end key. I knew where I wanted to go but I didn't know if it was such a good idea. Everyone acts different when they're with their parents.
As I rounded a corner my house came into view at the end of the street. I stood there for awhile wondering if going home would be a good idea. I know how their going to react. My dad would probably end up screaming anything that come out of his mouth, which usually messes up his sentences. My mom will probably cry.
When I got to the house I lightly knocked on the door. Nothing like being locked out of your own house. If I am still living here. The white door opened and my mom had a smile but I guess she realized it was me and the smile faded.
"Jordan?" She whispered. It already felt like a bad idea coming here.
"Yeah mom" I was waiting for her to pass out or something with the look she was giving. She moved forward I was thinking she was going to hug me but instead she slapped me across the face. That wasn't was I was waiting for. "OW okay I deserved that" I put my hand on my cheek it was warm where the hand print probably was.
"I didn't raise you like that! You were a good kid when you were younger. What happened Jordan? Drugs? Alcohol?" She yelled.
"Nothing mom" I wasn't technically lying I haven't done drugs but I have drank alcohol before.
"Then tell me Jordan what possessed you to abusive a nice girl like Scarlett?" She asked. I kept quiet I don't know what made me hurt Scarlett I guess I liked the power. "I don't know what me or your father did wrong to raise a monster like you. You're not welcome back into this house, until you prove to us you changed" She closed the door in my face. I don't know if that went worse then I thought it would or better. I started walking away when a hand came down on my shoulder.
"Hold on. You haven't heard from me yet." My dad said. I gulped. Getting yelled at by my mom isn't as bad as getting yelled at by my dad. "How dare you come back. We were so worried about you until we got a phone call that you got arrested for beating Scarlett. I don't know who you think you are. Scarlett was such a nice girl what gave you the right to hurt her? What did she even do to you?" He asked. He gave me the I'm-waiting-for-you-to-answer look.
"Dad you know what it's like to be a guy.. you want power" I could have sworn I say my dads eyes flicker red with anger.
"That doesn't give you the right to hit woman! I don't want to see you back here anymore. Get your stuff out of my house you're on your own" He turned back and walked into the house.
"That's smart where am I supposed to go!" I yelled as soon as the door slammed shut. When I turned a brightly colored girl was standing a few feet away.
"I couldn't help but to hear your argument from down the street" Her voice was sweet. "I know we never met before but if you need a place to live, I live in a two room apartment by myself"
"I don't know if that's a good idea according to my parents I'm a monster" I said.
"I don't think you're a monster I think you're misunderstood" She gave a small smile.
"Well.. Okay thanks" I didn't know weather to be happy she's letting me stay with her or worried.
"I'm Nephele" She said walked towards my and extending her name.
"That's a unique name. Jordan" I shook her hand.
"My mom loved Greek gods and goddesses. I was named after Nephele a cloud nymph who Zeus created in the image of Hera to trick Ixion." She smiled. "I've heard the story a million of times"
I smiled, "That's cool"
"If you don't mind me asking.. why did you get kicked out of your house?" She asked. I knew if I told her she wouldn't want me to stay at her house anymore but I did anyways. I was shocked she didn't care. She has a very odd prospective of life and thinks everything happens for a reason. The rest of the day we talked.
