Pawsteps echoed around her. Barely conscious, she could just make out what the voices were saying...

"Intruder! On our land!" a tom hissed. A couple of others came up behind him. One of them gasped. "Just give me the signal and I'll pounce!"

"No! Rabbitpaw we have to bring the poor mite back to camp." another tom meowed. "She could die if we don't do anything!" a huff came from a third cat.

"Rabbitpaw has a point. Who knows? This could be a RiverClan spy! We shouldn't risk the safety of our own Clan." the third cat, a she-cat, countered.

"But what if it's not a RiverClan cat, huh? No matter where they're from, we can't just leave a cat left to die!" the tom scooped her up by her scruff. The she-cat scoffed.

"If Grassstar gets angry, don't get mad when I blame you!" she hissed.

"He won't get angry, Locustcrawl. Everything will be fine. I personally think Grassstar will be pleased." the tom replied. "Now, let's get back to camp. We can come back and get the prey we caught later." the patrol of cats began to walk up the hills. And that's when Snow became fully unconscious.

Her eyes opened and for a moment she thoughts she was back in her den with Tala and Nettle until new and sharp scents entered her nostrils. She looked around for a moment. Piles of different kinds of leaves were stacked in piles around her. Snow was laying in a nest that wasn't made of reeds like at RiverClan or moss like the Horizons, but heather. Three other nests were closer to the back. One of which still had a cream tom still sleeping in it. Pawsteps came from behind her.

"Oh, you're awake." a voice meowed. Snow turned around. Almost immediately, the cat recoiled in sudden shock. "Your eyes!" the ginger and black tom exclaimed. Embarrassment washed over Snow as she turned away again.

"Where am I?" she asked quietly. Slowly, memories came back to her as she recounted what happened at the RiverClan border. Tears came to her eyes, but she held them in. She couldn't show weakness to these cats.

"You are in WindClan." a new voice joined in. Snow looked back and saw a beautiful long-furred she-cat. Her blue eyes gleamed in the dark. She turned to the smaller ginger and black tom.

"Go wake Tinytail for me while I check on our patient," she told him. He nodded and rushed past Snow and went to the cream tom in the back. The she-cat came up to Snow and began to check her. "Do you have any pains anywhere?" Snow nodded and lifted up her paw. One of her claws had been snagged when she was... fighting. The snagged claw was now puffy and red. The she-cat huffed and looked up.

"Fernpaw, get me some borage and nettle." she meowed. The apprentice nodded and swiftly went into the herb store. When Snow looked back at the she-cat, Snow noticed the black medicine cat was looking intently into her eyes. Snow looked away.

"No need to fear." the she-cat meowed. "I have just never seen eyes of that color before."

"You don't think they are bad?" Snow whispered. The she-cat snorted.

"Of course not! they may alarm some cats, but they are just a strange asset." she meowed.

"No cat has really described them as that before..." Snow muttered. The black she-cat smiled.

"What's your name young one?" she asked.

"Snow," she replied shyly. Fernpaw came back with the herbs and dropped them at the she-cat's feet.
