Morning came and the patrols to attack RiverClan were sent. A couple of cats were whispering about if RiverClan would even let them come across the border with so many cats on the first patrol, but they were quickly reassured that Grassstar knew what he was doing. The camp surrounded the cats that were leaving to go to the battle. Snowpaw wished she could go, but she knew what was at risk if she did. For a moment, Snowpaw made eye contact with Archpaw they bother smiled at each other, but then he had to go.

"Good luck!"

"Come back safe!"

"Give those fish-eaters a good swipe for me!" cats yelled as the patrol left. Snowpaw flexed her claws in the soil below. She was having deja vu of that day when Pikestar was going to attack WindClan. It brought back all the horrible memories of living in RiverClan, and how she was so horribly mistreated there. It made her bitter.

"Hey!" a voice chirped beside her. Snowpaw turned and saw Heatherpaw. "I'm so jealous of Silverpaw and Rabbitpaw. They get to go and I don't!" she hissed. Snowpaw mewed in amusement.

"Well, at least we get a somewhat relaxing day." she meowed. Heatherpaw shrugged, still looking upset.

"But still, would you pass up a cool adventure for another normal day?" Heatherpaw groaned. She has a point, and as much as I want to go, I have to act like I have nothing against RiverClan.

"Sometimes it's better to have a normal day than have an adventure." Snowpaw meowed. She felt like she was going to burst since she was acting like RiverClan was nothing to her.

"You loners are strange." she sighed.

"What can I say? When I was a loner the only days that were not normal were the ones where I had to fight other cats, and those days were not very good." Snowpaw lied.

"Yeah, I guess." Heatherpaw sighed. "Anyway, I'm going back to sleep." she padded to the apprentice's den, but her mentor Stonetail grabbed her but the scruff.

"No you have to guard the camp until they get back," he muttered. Heatherpaw groaned as he plopped her back down on the soil below. Snowpaw smiled and went over to her mentor. Ferretpool was by the entrance. She had just said her last goodbyes to her mate, Wrenthorn.

"Is there anything I could do?" she asked Ferretpool. Her mentor didn't look at her for a second, but then turned and tilted her head to the medicine cat den.

"Ask Midnightbloom if there is anything you can do to help her. There will be injuries." Ferretpool told her. Snowpaw looked at the worry in her mentor's eyes. It made her feel like she should do something, but she knew no matter what she said, Ferretpool would still be nervous. Snowpaw went to the medicine cat den. She slid into the crevice of the rock and peered into the darkness.

"What do you need?" a voice meowed from inside the den. Snowpaw tasted the air and scented that it was Tinytail.

"Ferretpool sent me to see if you needed an extra set of paws," she told him. A rustling noise came from the back of the den.

"Get her to fetch cobwebs. We can never have too many." Midnightbloom joined in.

"You heard her." Tinytail meowed to Snowpaw. She backed out of the den and quickly scanned the clearing. Snowpaw looked around the Tallrock for any spiderwebs, and she found some tucked away. She grabbed it with her jaws and shook off the spider and other insects that were attached to it.

"Traitor."

Snowpaw's heart skipped a beat. The voice, it was the one in her head that persuaded her to leave. What do you want?
