"Rabbitpaw! Shut up she is still sleeping!" someone hissed. Snowpaw flicked her ears. A couple of paw steps pattered around her.
"I"m sorry Heatherpaw! It's not my fault that I have dawn patrol this morning!" he huffed.
"Whatever. Just be quiet. Some of us are trying to sleep." Heatherpaw growled.
"Kinda too late for that." Silverpaw groaned. Snowpaw opened her eyes and saw that all the apprentices were wide awake. Rabbitpaw was clambering out of the den for his patrol.
"He'll wake the entire camp if he continues!" Heatherpaw sighed. Silverpaw giggled as Rabbitpaw glared at his sister. Once he left the den Heatherpaw stretched and looked at Snowpaw, curiosity shined in her eyes.
"Sooooo, what's your story?" she asked. She stared at her all wide-eyed. Snowpaw tensed.
"Nothing much," she told them. Fear raced through her pelt. Can they tell I'm lying? To her relief, Heatherpaw just frowned and sighed. Her tail lashed.
"So before this, your life was just all a boring pile of muck where you just walked, hunted, slept, and repeated?" she pressed. Snowpaw shrugged, trying to look completely innocent. Because unbeknownst to them, my life is the exact opposite of dull. Silverpaw glared at Heatherpaw.
"No need to be so rude!" the pretty silver she-cat scoffed. "Maybe you should get to know her better before you ask for her entire life story." Heatherpaw narrowed her eyes but said nothing.
"Sorry, Silverpaw." she meowed and looked at Snowpaw. "Okay, now what do you like to do for fun?"
The three apprentices went on talking until they had to go do their morning duties. She didn't have anything to do until sunhigh, so she slept a bit longer. But when talking to the other apprentices Snowpaw learned that Heatherpaw was creative, smart, and sarcastic and Silverpaw was kind, and very popular(not to mention attractive, but also with how perfect she seemed, it got on Snowpaw's last nerve), and skillful. She had a fun time connecting with her fellow clanmates. Not something I ever did in RiverClan Thinking about RiverClan reminded her of when she had seen Minnowpa-creek at the border. What had happened then had been such a surprise it was now just really hitting her. Turtlepool chose Dapplelily. She remembered how the two had been fond of each other when they were apprentices, but she had always really thought he would have chosen Minnowcreek instead. Snowpaw sighed. How quickly the events can turn.
"Snowpaw," Silverpaw nudged her shoulder. "We have to go to battle training. It's going to be a competition between you, me, Heatherpaw, and Rabbitpaw!" her tail was high with ambition. Snowpaw smiled.
"Who did you hear it from?" Snowpaw asked.
"My mentor, Barksong! I am so excited! I love competitions. Especially when we can use these moves against those pesky RiverClan cats!" she chirped happily. Her eyes were bright. Snowpaw smirked.
"You seem to really like fighting," Snowpaw replied. She sat up and began to smooth down her fur. Silverpaw shrugged.
"I guess. But sometimes fighting can be..." memories flashed through her eyes. "Well, anyways let's go before we are late." Snowpaw got up and followed Silverpaw out of the den. WindClan seemed to almost immediately swarm around Silverpaw.
"How are you feeling?"
"Want some prey?"
"Do you want to come hunting with me?"
