We Meet Again

Snowclaw waited all day for when she was supposed to meet Snappaw. She wasn't sure if she was excited or nervous, but even still she had her own worries. Ever since WindClan discovered her secret, some cats treated her differently.

Some treated her like a hero for slaying a RiverClan cat. Others felt immensely sorry for her and offered her comfort. Though, treated her coldly. As if she was planning to murder them too. It was obvious who felt that way. Lillydew for example and her younger kits, and a couple of other cats she had been whispering to. Snowclaw couldn't blame them though, who would trust a murderer? Even if it was in self-defense or a well-earned revenge it was still taking the life of another cat.

It made her feel out of place, but she tried to not look shaken for the sake of her friends and mental health, as bad as it was already. She was on a border patrol right now, going by RiverClan territory. She stood tall, knowing that she had no reason to fear right now. RiverClan was only a menace.

Unfortunately for the patrol, made up of herself, Rabbitwing, Dunestorm, and Locustcrawl, they had run into a RiverClan patrol. When they came into sight of each other, the leader of the patrol, Locustcrawl, hissed. Snowclaw winced. She knew that Locustcrawl was only asserting dominance in the situation, and Snowclaw would have done the same, but right now she did not want to get RiverClan angry.

"Don't even think about coming near the border!" Locustcrawl growled. But those fox-hearts deserve the cruelty they are given. Snowclaw sneered. She arched her back like the others and hissed. If they get angry, it really wouldn't matter. It would just give me another chance to rip their pelts off.

"Of course, WindClan is the one trying to instigate something. After all, you took in a murderer!" a RiverClan cat hissed. Snowclaw got a look at who it was and recognized that it was Troutfin, who had been Thrushblaze's mate.

"Well, at least we treat our cats equally!" Locustcrawl snapped back. The RiverClan patrol looked confused. Snowclaw then noticed that a couple of the cats on the patrol were staring at her with burning hatred.

"I have no idea what you are talking about," Troutfin growled. He turned to his patrol. "Come on we have better things to be doing." they then trotted off. Snowclaw felt fury pulse through her. You have no idea what you cats did to me! She stared down the RiverClan patrol until they went out of sight. Locustcrawl huffed.

"Ugh RiverClan makes me so angry!" she ruffled her pelt.

"Hopefully Grassstar will lead another attack soon against them. It has been a while since I tore into RiverClan fur." Dunestorm agreed, flexing his claws into the ground. Snowclaw nodded.

"They definitely need to learn a lesson or two..."

Later that night, Snowclaw snuck out of camp. She slid through the dirt-place tunnel and headed for ThunderClan border where he asked her to meet him. She honestly half expected him not to show up and he was just playing one of his practical jokes on her, because why would he be in ThunderClan of all places? He could have just said before that he was an apprentice there, but he had never mentioned it.

When she arrived at the stream, she didn't see anyone there. All she could hear was the bubbling of the stream in front of her. Annoyance flooded through her. If Snappaw was trying to play a joke on her, then she would make sure he got a hard hit to the head when she saw him again in the Dark Forest. Suddenly, the bushes shook, and out came a familiar ginger tom. It felt different, to see him in real life. His features looked more defined and he wasn't tinted by the reddish darkness that always cloaked the Dark Forest. More than ever, she realized how much he had grown over the past few moons. He now was lean and slender and much taller than her, but he had the wide shoulders of a ThunderClan cat. Snowclaw wondered why he had not yet received his warrior name since they were near the same age. They stared at each other for a couple of heartbeats until he smirked.
