Chapter IX
L A L I S A
As we finished our breakfast, I decided to invite Jennie for a walk. She's wearing this casual red dress and rubber shoes. She said my mom bought her tons of dresses before dropping her off to my apartment. She's now standing beside me waiting and I could tell, the way Jennie looked at me was unsure, almost fearful, but atleast she agreed to accompany me.
I called Bammy to get me a car, after a few more minutes our ride is here, it was driven by one of Bambam employees.
"I thought we're going for a walk?" She asked.
"Change of mind," I quickly answered and opened the shotgun seat and waited until she settled before quickly got into the drivers. I started the engine and shuffled on the car radio until a soothing love song came on.
"Have you been in the theme park before?" I quickly glanced at her side before focusing on the road again, she was looking outside enjoying the city view.
"Yeah, with my mom when I was 5." I nodded.
"How was it? Tell me." She was hesitant at first but then proceed to tell me a story of her experience. She said she was scared to even ride the carousel. She's sensitive with loud noise and crowded places becasue she got lost before. "She seems to be so kind, Tell me more about her, your mother." The only thing I knew was her mom passed away and nothing else. Well, its not like I wanted to get to know her, but I just wanted to have a little conversation while driving.
"She was the most beautiful person I have ever met..." Surprisingly, listening to her stories made this traffic more bearable.

The car ride wasn't that long, but it felt like forever. Once we got out I glanced at Jennie on my side. "Hey, you doing good?" I asked, concern edging into my tone. Jennie let out a small moan of distress.
"Too many people and I-I'm not a fan of rides, Lisa. They terrify me." I chuckled, the sound blending with the hum of the park's atmosphere.
"It's okay, this is the first step to conquer your fear. I want you to stop being such a scaredy-cat. The roller coaster is not that scary, and besides I am with you." I teased, my voice tinged with amusement as I nudged Jennie toward the towering ride. Jennie nervously laughed, her eyes betraying her fear as she glanced up at the intimidating rides.
"I-I don't know, Lisa. I really don't like these things."
"Come on, it'll be fun! Trust me," My eyes sparkling with excitement, because I really enjoy doing extreme rides. "Don't worry, I won't make you ride anything after this. We can just walk around and take in the sights." Jennie nodded and bit her lower lip which makes my entire face felt hot.
"Stop doing that, Ruby Jane."
"Doing what?" She asked confused, I hissed and looked away.
"Nothing. Let's go." I gently grab her hand and lead her to our seat. As we boarded the roller coaster, I couldn't contain my excitement. The engine revved up, and I let out a gleeful scream as we shot forward. Jennie gripped the safety bar, her eyes squeezed shut, and her body tense.
"Lisa, I'm not sure about this," she moaned.
"Don't worry, I've got you," I assured, placing my hand over hers on the safety bar. I could feel her trembling, but there was also a sense of trust in her touch. The roller coaster climbed higher, and I felt her let out a nervous laughter.
As we reached the thrilling drop, Jennie's moan of fear turned into a shrill scream. I couldn't help but laugh, feeling a strange mix of delight and protectiveness as she clung to me for dear life. The wind whipped through our hair, and the world blurred around us as we whizzed through loops and turns. I could hear Jennie's hesitant hums turn into genuine laughter as she realized that she was safe with me.
As the ride came to a halt, Jennie let out a breathless giggle and turned to me with a gummy smile.
"I can't believe I did that! Thank you, Lisa."
"Wanna go one more round?" her eyes widened, and I chuckled as I walked to the line of people in the food stall.

As we ambled through the park. The air was filled with the laughter of families and friends, the sound of joy. I glanced at Jennie and found her eyes sparkling with a mixture of longing and wonder.
"Lisa, this place is amazing," she murmured, her voice filled with awe. A contented sigh escaped me. This was nice, being with Jennie like this. It felt... different. As we continued our leisurely walk, a strange feeling settled within me, a feeling I couldn't understand.
We strolled along the winding paths, the playful chirping of the birds filled the air. The sun dappled through the leaves of the trees, casting a warm glow on the ground. I cleared my throat, breaking the quiet atmosphere.
"So, what do you like to do in your spare time?" I asked, Jennie hesitated for a moment, then responded.
"I've been doing everything in our house, like cooking, cleaning and some stuff. But in some rare ocassions when I have time, I usually enjoy reading. How about you?"
Jennie suffered more than you could ever imagine.' my father's voice echoed in my head. What did her father do to her?
"Aside from work, women keep me really busy." she stopped for a moment then nodded and there was a moment of silence between us, but it's not as heavy as I remember.
Despite the park's bustling energy, a quiet realization dawned on me - I was enjoying my time with her.
