Chapter 4: Would you like to dance?

It has been several months since Lucifer was called into the mortal realm. During his visits, he formed close relationships with Mimzy and Husk. Mimzy was always cheerful and kind to him, while Husk offered helpful advice when he had problems. Recently, Lucifer has been sleeping more frequently as he worries about Lilith's well-being. He calls her often to check if everything is fine after the extermination and the magic he used to help Alastor. Although it was taking a toll on him, he refrained from asking Alastor for blood, as the last time they discussed the subject, Lucifer could tell that Alastor was uncomfortable with the idea.

Alastor noticed that Lucifer had been sleeping more often in the past few weeks. Whenever Alastor asked how he was feeling, Lucifer would put on a fake smile and say that he was just tired. Alastor was worried about Lucifer and decided to find a way to help him feel better.

Present time

Alastor was performing on stage while Lucifer was conversing with Mimzy and Husk at the bar.

Mimzy: "Did you hear, that some rich guy is throwing some sort of ball tomorrow evening and he invited the whole town"

Lucifer: "Nope, does he know"

Mimzy: "Who Alastor, probably not because he is not interested in gossip unless someone mentions his name"

Lucifer: "So are you and Husk going"

Husk: "No..."

Mimzy: "I am going on a date that night, but you and Alastor can go, I bet you guys would have fun "

Lucifer: "I will ask him if he would like to go"

MImzy: "Well I am going to get ready for my date tomorrow, I bet you and Alastor will have fun also it starts at 8:00 pm."

After finishing his performance, Alastor walked towards Lucifer, noticing that Mimzy had just left the stage.

Alastor: "Mimzy left sooner than usual"

Lucifer: "Because she wants to prepare for her date tomorrow, also did you hear about some ball that's going to be held by tomorrow some rich guy"

Alastor: "I'm afraid not, why do you ask"

Lucifer: "Well Mimzy just told me and I think it could be so much fun, so I was wondering "

Alastor: "You're asking because you want us to attend the ball"

Lucifer was smiling so brightly at Alastor: "Yeah, so can we"

Alastor sighed: "we can go but we are only staying for an hour "

Alastor agreed to accompany Lucifer to the ball because he was happy to see his friend's genuine smile return, instead of the forced one he had been wearing for weeks.

Lucifer: "Yeah"

They both went home to get ready for the ball, and Lucifer decided to take a nap beforehand so he could maintain his transformation for longer. They arrived at the party at 8:05 pm and discovered that almost the entire town had turned up. While Lucifer danced with other guests, Alastor stood and watched, sipping on his wine. After Lucifer finished dancing, he walked over to Alastor with a curious expression on his face

Lucifer: "So, you're not going to dance"

Alastair:" I don't feel like dancing "

Lucifer: "Is it because you don't feel like it or because you can't dance"

Alastor:" I can dance, but I don't want to."

Lucifer: "Fine I won't push it, also it's been over an hour, we can leave now"

Alastor lost track of time and didn't realize that over an hour had passed. As they left the party and headed back to the house, Lucifer pulled him to the side of the house where the moonlight shone brightly. In this light, Alastor could see Lucifer's smiling face.

Alastor: "What are you doing "

Lucifer: "Well you didn't want to dance with those people, so I thought if you would like to dance with me"

Lucifer waited for another response

Lucifer: "You could lead if you want", he paused until saying: "unless you don't want to "

Alastor: "How could I refuse your majesty, that would be unkind of me "

Lucifer blushed a bit when Alastor grabbed his hand and kissed it. Alastor then pulled Lucifer in and they started dancing under the night sky. The only sounds they could hear were the breeze of the wind and the chirping of birds. Lucifer smiled happily, but Alastor could see he looked a bit tired as well. After they finished dancing, they both sat on the grass and looked up at the stars.

Lucifer: "I hate to say it but you are a great dancer, Alastor"

Alastor was surprised to hear his name come out of Lucifer's mouth, lucifer glanced to see alastor expression.

Lucifer: why are you making that face, did I say something wrong

Alastore:" No, it's just I never heard you say my name ever"

Lucifer suddenly realized that he had spoken Alastor's name out loud in front of him. Feeling embarrassed, he got up and started walking away.

Lucifer: "Well whatever it's just a name, it's not a big deal"

. Alastor, however, found it amusing and followed him back to the house. When they reached the bedroom, Lucifer transformed into a snake and hid under a pillow, Alastor noticed Lucifer hiding under the pillow.

Alastor: "Your Majesty is uttering my name, which is embarrassing for you."

Lucifer remained silent not wanting to say anything

Alastor: "How come you can utter everyone's names but not mine? Is my name so horrible that you don't want to say it"

Lucifer remained hidden under the pillow, but eventually, he began feeling bad. He emerged in his normal form.

Lucifer: "No, it's not, it's just your different"

Alastor: "How am I different, Your Majesty"

Lucifer: "One, we are in a contract, and two you always are being a pain in the ass"

Alastor: "And three"

Lucifer: "And three, I don't want to get attached to you"

Alastor was taken aback by the response, but it made him very happy nonetheless.

Lucifer: "You are becoming an important friend to me "

Alastor: Well, you're an important friend to me as well."

Lucifer was still embarrassed, but he was happy to learn that Alastor considered him a friend. Alastor noticed Lucifer was still blushing, so he changed the subject to help him relax.

Alastor: "I have a question lucifer what is hell like, since I am going to be in hell one day "

Lucifer: "Well it's basically like Earth except there are overlords and............"
