Opal stumbled into Everglen, and knocked on the shimmering, glowing gates. A moment later, Fitz, followed by Keefe and a girl, opened the gates.
"Hi Opal!" Fitz beamed. "Dad already moved your things to your new room. Biana can show you there!" Fitz gestured to the girl, whose name was Biana.
"Hi, I'm Opal Lorna!" Opal smiled friendlily.
Biana observed Opal for a moment, before smiling the same way Fitz did. " Hi! Biana Vacker. Follow me!"
Biana dashed into the house, vanishing in and out just like her mother did. Opal could barely keep up. Finally, they reached the fifth floor, where Fitz and Biana's bedrooms were. Biana led Opal to a door and opened it. Opal gasped.
Inside was a humongous bedroom, complete with its own bathroom and library. The walls were colored yellow - Opal's favorite color - and the bed was king-sized.
"No way," Opal breathed, unable to believe it, "This entire room is mine? It's amazing!"
"Yup!" Biana nodded, "Dad said to make yourself comfortable. Dinner's waiting downstairs in the kitchen."
Biana left Opal alone in the gigantic room. It was almost as big as the orphanage she used to live in. Bitterness filled Opal as she recalled her miserable life at the orphanage after her parents had died in a car accident. Opal had only been three, and therefore could not remember what happened. Everyone told her that only she had survived the accident, which was a miracle, considering the fact that she was wounded so severely that she almost died along with her parents. Opal shook her head and reminded herself, "You promised yourself that you'd forget that. I have a new life now. With the elves."
Then, she stepped out of the room and headed to the kitchen.
