"Bye, guys," Opal said five hours later. Dex, Keefe and Sophie were all going home.
"See you tomorrow?" Sophie smiled.
"Yeah. Y'all better not forget to come."
"Bye sis." Sophie hugged Opal. She had transmitted that last word.
"Bye," Opal transmitted back.
"Noooo!" Keefe groaned. Everyone turned to look at him. "Opal and Sophie are having a Sofitz signature conversation."
"Got a problem?" Opal raised her eyebrows.
"No," Keefe laughed after realizing his mistake, "Please don't hurt me, Ms. Extra Mysterious."
Opal rolled her eyes. Sophie laughed.
"Now you know how it feels all the time," Sophie transmitted.
Opal shrugged. "Being bullied is worse. Especially when your orphanage manager treats you like a slave."
Sophie became pale. Opal gasped and covered her mouth when she realized. She hadn't meant to transmit that.
"Opal! Why didn't you tell me before?" Sophie shouted.
"Cause I'm fine!" Opal replied, half shouting.
"Did Opal just admit her secret crush?" Keefe grinned.
"This is serious," Sophie snapped. Keefe looked stunned.
"I'm fine, Soph. They're my problems. I can handle it," Opal argued.
"You're not fine," Sophie retorted.
"Mind filling us in?" Alden asked as he watched the two argue.
"Yes, Opal was being used as a slave in her orphanage!" Sophie shouted before Opal could interrupt.
"I'm fine! And besides, that's not what I said! I said she treated me like a slave," Opal snapped back.
Everyone stared at Opal, horrified. Opal groaned. Her and her big mouth just couldn't seem to shut up.
"Opal, that's the same thing," Dex said in barely a whisper.
"It isn't. Plus, it's not a huge deal. I'm not there anymore, am I?" Opal sighed.
"Still..."
"Chill guys. I'm fine now, aren't I? It isn't a big deal."
"If you say so," Sophie said reluctantly.
Opal smiled when she heard Sophie's reply. "Time for y'all to go back! You can't stay here forever!"
Sophie nodded and left with Edaline and Grady. The Dizznees followed suit and left after the Ruewens.
"You sure you're fine?" Keefe leant in and whispered.
"Yes," Opal gasped, exasperated. "No go!"
"Fine. I just wanted to check. Stay safe, Opal."
"Bye!" Opal waved as Keefe leaped back to Candleshade.
Opal turned around, and nearly jumped in shock when she saw the Vackers staring at her.
Opal hesitated, before asking, "Yes...?"
"You're very, very sure you're not unhappy or angry or anything?" Della asked, clearly worried.
"Like I said," Opal sighed, tired of saying it again, "I'm fine."
"If you say so."
"By the way, Mum, our friends are coming over every day from now on," Biana said, trying to change the subject.
"Why?" Alden's eyebrow shot up.
"Opal's teaching them to roast people. She's an expert," Biana declared.
Alden and Della laughed. "Sure," Alden chuckled.
"Thanks, Dad!" Biana exclaimed, and hugged-strangled her father.
Everyone laughed.
