Rody was riding his bike through the rain, getting absolutely soaked unlike he thought would not by going fast.
Rody sighed as he put his bike away, going to the back door of the bistro where Vincent happened to be at the same time. Rody always got there before any of the chefs and Vincent usually stayed in his office.
Vincent had a clipboard in hand when he lifted his head to look at Rody, looking at Rody with a narrowed gaze. "Why the hell are you soaking wet?" He said as he set the clipboard down on the counter then grabbing a rag which was near the sinks (yes, sinks. There are two sinks in the kitchen. Why? Why not).
Rody laughed nervously as he stepped in, shutting the door behind him. He moved a hand to rub the back of his neck nervously. "Ah, I biked through the rain...I thought it wouldn't get me so soaked-" He knew it was a dumb thought and that it clearly did not work from Rody's hair being soaked along with his clothes.
Vincent sighed. "You didn't bring an umbrella with you?" He walked over, gettin behind Rody. Vincent moved the rag onto Rody's head, wiping Rody's hair. He knew Rody was dumb but not this dumb.
"Don't own one." He shrugged. He stayed still as he watched Vincent walk over, being thrown off by the sudden rag thrown over his hair. He stayed still thought once he realized Vincent was drying off his hair.
"You can borrow mine." He muttered as he kept drying off Rody's hair, keeping a straight face.
"Won't you need it for when you leave?" Rody questioned.
"I live here."
"In the restaurant?!" Rody spoke a bit louder from being shocked.
"My apartment is upstairs." He corrected Rody's question, which Rody asked quite loudly in Vincent's opinion.
"Oh.." Rody felt a bit dumb when Vincent corrected him, smiling nervously. "Well, it's very nice of you."
"Don't mention it." He pulled the now wet rag away from Rody's now slightly dry hair. "Seriously." His tone lowered and he narrowed his gaze further.
Rody turned his head to look at Vincent then got more nervous when Vincent got all cold again. "Aheh, y-you got it!" His nervous smile turning into a nervous smirk as he raised his hands in dismissal.
Besides that encounter that morning, Rody's shift went normally and smoothly. Managed to not have any costumers leave and even got tipped really well today! He was happy, maybe a little too happy for just some extra money but he was saving up to take Manon on a date anyway. He wanted it to be extra special so any extra money helped.
Vincent walked out of the kitchen and saw Rody wiping off the last table that had left. The customers were gone and the chefs were getting ready to leave. He didn't know why but he felt an urge to talk to Rody so he started to walk over. What was he going to say? Vincent had no idea himself.
Rody finished wiping the table and stood up straight, smiling widely at his work of all the tables looking squeaky clean! He suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder, turning his head and seeing Vincent. He smiled and fully turned himself to Vincent. "Hey! What's up?" He raised an eyebrow
"Hey.." He went quiet for a moment which left awkward silence between the two. Rody looked obviously nervous and Rody was even rubbing the back of his neck. He had to stop looking at Rody or he'd just start to analyze everything about Rody. Weird habit he had, if you could call it a habit. "Can you stay for a bit? I was wondering if we could talk in my office?" Vincent had no idea what he was doing or what he wanted besides knowing it had something to do with Rody.
Rody stood there awkwardly while he waited for Vincent to talk which he didn't for almost a full minute, weird... He perked up when Vincent asked to hang out or what he assumed was hanging out. He smiled and he got excited now. "Sure!" He exclaimed, a bit too loudly and happily.
