"I cannot remember. I cannot ......................." Evalla's forehead was creased indicating that she was struggling to remember their names.
"Alright, don't struggle. You need not remember that." Rose did not want Evalla trouble for unnecessary things. "Do you remember the names of your friends in that orphanage?"
"I don't have any friends in that orphanage." Evalla's answer was quick and sharp.
"Why did not you make any friends there?"
"I always wanted to make friends." Now Evalla's voice was with sorrow. "But those people did not want to talk to me."
"Why so? Why it is like that?"
"I don't know. I cannot say." Evalla's voice weak.
Rose looked into the faces of Viswanadh and Evalla. Their expressions were plain but inside they were thinking that Rose was asking unnecessary questions. But Rose knew very well asking the important questions straight spoil the whole process.
"Do you remember when entered into that orphanage?"
There was no answer from Evalla and her forehead was once again creased with frowns.
"You can remember and tell me when you came into that orphanage and how did you come to there." Keenly observing the expression on the face of Evalla Rose said.
The interest in Viswanadh and Prameela also was picked up and they were looking at Evalla curiously.
"I don't know. I just cannot remember that." Deep frowns gathered on the forehead of Evalla and it understood to three of them that she was trying furiously to remember about it.
"You can remember......you can remember that....." with a smooth and persuading voice Rose said. "You have the energy and will power to remember things."
"At my twelfth year. I was a twelve year old child." Suddenly the answer came from Evalla and Rose looked into the faces of Viswanadh and Prameela with a smile on her lips.
"How did you come there? Have you been dropped by someone at that place?"
Once again frowns were gathered on the forehead of Evalla and struggle started in her to remember.
"You answer my question. You can break the blank wall and answer my question."
"I dropped there by a man.....by a man.....I cannot remember anything....." the struggle was increased even more in Evalla.
"You can remember.....you sure can remember and tell me....."Rose was persistent. The struggle then in Evalla was troubling Rose. It was just like something very strong was preventing her from remembering the things.
"You can remember and tell me. Where you were before you have been dropped at that orphanage? Who were your parents?"
The struggle in Evalla was increased even more making the frowns on her forehead deeper than before.
"I am thinking that she is struggling very much to remember things. Better we do stop here." With an uneasy expression in his face Viswanadh said.
"I am also of the same opinion." Prameela said. She was also feeling uneasily seeing the trouble of Evalla.
"It is not unusual that subjects trouble like this while we are extracting crucial information from them." with a small voice without looking into the faces of Viswanadh and Prameela Rose said before asking Evalla again. "You can remember about your past and tell me. Where you were before coming to that orphanage."
