"She was forced to lead a life like that Williams. It was not her mistake." Rose paused for a second before saying again. "But she loved your dad hundred percent and that Dibbu blackmailed her to have it like that with her."
The inquiries they made after the death of Margaret and Dibbu, made some disturbing facts elicited.
"No, Rose. That is not true." Williams nodded his head in negation. "From the very beginning her love was on that rascal only. Only to make themselves rich she married my dad and could become pregnant with that rogue even while my dad was alive. After my dad's death, there were no impediments to them and had in the way they wanted."
"If it were true, why she had shot him to death like that and shot herself so?"
"She knew that I remember the truth and once I remember it I kill them both on the spot. So she did it like that but for not any other reason."
"Will until you forgive them both, you cannot have peace. They both were dead and we should not hate dead people like that."
"I just cannot even think to forgive them both." With firmness Williams said. "I hate myself even to think to forgive them."
"Try atleast to forgive your mother Will, atleast try." With gathered frowns Rose said. "Try to read the book she has written in full. Try to understand her from depths. Put yourself in her place and then think. After all she is your mother Will."
They found some book written by Margaret in her room after her death but none of them were read it then. Williams and Jasmine wanted to read it but Rose did not allow them to do so as she feared what her mother in law wrote in that book and what type of affect it would have on them.
Williams nodded his head in negation and tried to say something more but both of them heard a voice from behind.
"Try in the way my sister said Williams. Try to understand not just your mom but any woman like her in her place."
Both of them perched their heads up and found Liza there.
"I am very sorry that I entered into the room of a wife and husband and intrude into their conversation like this." With a regretful expression in her face Liza said.
"Not at all sister. Please come and sit." Emptying the chair she sat and transferred herself onto the bed beside her husband, Rose said. "Many a time I say to Williams that you can be a better psychiatrist than I also if you preferred to study psychiatry. Just say whatever you do want to say. Atleast that may get a change in the mind of my husband."
"You cannot understand how the poor women in the society would be taken advantage of by men Williams." Liza slumped herself in the chair vacated by Rose and looked straight into the face of Williams. "The only aim of them always is to turn them into prostitutes. Even they want to live on their hard work, they don't let them do it. If they are beautiful also, the only option to them is to live as prostitutes."
Williams did not say anything but the expression in his face thawed a little.
"Anyhow why do you hate prostitutes like that? They are satisfying the urge of some unfortunate men. Don't think all the men do have wives and can satisfy their sexual urge through women. There are men whose wives don't let them have it for longer periods. What you can say about widowers and those who do remain unmarried for some unavoidable reason? How they do satisfy their urge? If you remain starved for sex for a long time, you can understand the meaning in what I said."
Williams did not say anything but there has come some more change in his face.
"It is not just your mother Will, our mother also has to do it like that on occasions. In the beginning to meet the financial necessities of our family. Later to satisfy the compulsive urge of those people. She used to feel happy and pride as she could be useful to them so. I think I have got my inspiration from her. You know what I did if you know my past."
