The Fire has spread far more than I thought it would.
It wasn't too long after I left Elm's Lab until I started encountering Fire and Panicking Pokemon who were running away from the Flames.
'We're almost there... ...Nevermind.'
I couldn't see it, but "Search" could...
I quickly jumped off Arc's back, and he ducked, narrowly avoiding the Fiery Claws that lashed out at us from the Forest.
As I landed, I could feel the Intense Heat blasting off of Entei.
Quickly, I turned to face the Legendary Beast.
"...This is gonna suck." I sigh.
I completely forgot that "Overclock" was on Cooldown, so I was a little more nervous when I realized it didn't activate.
'...He's not making a Move-'
As if to spite my thought, a Ring of Fire suddenly surrounds us, almost scorching my back.
"Hot! Arc!"
Arc quickly turned into a Floatzal.
With one full Blast of Steaming Water, he hits Entei directly in the Face, causing visible damage.
'Scald? ...If the Fire makes the Water Hotter, then...'
...And, for the first time ever...
...I witnessed the "Burned" Status Condition.
A few Flames puffed out of Entei's Body, causing them to flinch a little.
'...That's... what being "Burned" looks like, right? ...Now, I just need to get in close!'
Brandishing the Cease in my hand, I watch and wait for an Opportunity to Strike...
...But, for some odd reason...
...Nothing happened.
...Nobody made a move.
'...Any time now. ...Is it me, or is it getting hotter-'
Suddenly realizing the increase in Temperature, I immediately felt the Burning Sensation below my feet, and looked down.
My Shoes were Ablaze.
"Holy-!"
I quickly grabbed and threw my shoes away...
Which only made the problem worse.
"HOT! HOT!"

I dip it into the Flame Wall that surrounded us.
The Heat and Pain was intense...
But Bearable.

I alternated to my Right Hand when I felt that my Left had had enough, and waited for the Intensity to cool off before I continued.
