Kat wakes up in the middle of the night, only to find the first and only girl she's ever made out with in her kitchen. She turns out to be dating her brother Noah and at first Kat tries to keep her distance from her but for some reason she feels inc...
Days turned into weeks and Kat was still ignoring Billie, besides her attempt to reach out. On the other hand Noah was still keeping his distance with Kat. To avoid confronting her feelings, Kat was throwing herself into her studies and other activities, spending more times with friends than usual. However she was hurt from the inside and despite her efforts to move on she found herself crying at night every now and then, constantly second-guessing her actions.
It was 10 pm, the dim glow of Kat's phone illuminated her tear-streaked face as she layed in bed staring at the old messages from Billie. With trembling hands she scrolled through their chat from from 2 weeks ago:

Suddenly, Lena's name popped up on the screen.
"Hello," Kat answered, the Facetime video, quickly wiping away her tears.
"Hey-" Lena stopped concerned, barely seeing Kats face in the dark. "You Ok?
"Yea," Kat lied.
"I'm just calling to let you know we are there in 10 min, are you still coming?"
"Of course, let's have fun tonight," Kat forced a smile. With a small sign she got up and turned on the lights. She grabbed a random top and Jeans from her closet and threw it on without much thought. Then, in front of the mirror, she applied some make-up, so it didnt look like she was crying anymore. A few minutes later she heart a honk outside, so she ran downstairs to great her friends.

The music pulsed through the room, a blur of flashing lights and laughter. Kat danced with a boy whose name she didn't even remember, trying to lose herself in the moment. She leaned into him, laughing at his jokes and pretending to enjoy his company, but no matter how hard she tried, her thoughts kept drifting back to Billie. The boy leaned in to whisper something in her ear, and she forced a smile, nodding along, though she barely heard him. Her mind was disconnected from the scene around her and she started to feel like a passenger in her own body.
The They left the party together, stumbling down the street toward Kat's place. The boy's arm was around her waist, and she let him guide her, hoping that maybe, just maybe, this would help her forget. As they walked, Lena and Selena caught up to them, concern etched on their faces.
