Taking a deep breath, Kat let the words tumble out. "Billie and I, we kissed... again."

"AGAIN?I thought you were done with her?"

"I was, but I talked to Noah the other day"

"And what did he say?"

"Well, It's... it's been over between them for a while now. Noah actually encouraged me to talk to Billie again after everything."

Normani leaned back, her confusion slowly clearing. "Okay, that's a lot to take in. So, Noah's cool with all of this?"

"Yeah, he is," Kat confirmed, her voice softening. "He noticed how we were around each other and, well, Billie wrote this song... about her feelings for me. It's kind of what brought everything to the surface."

"Wow, a song? That's pretty intense," Normani remarked, genuinely impressed. "And... how do you feel about Billie?"

Kat sighed, a dreamy yet apprehensive look taking over. "I've never felt anything like this before, Normani. It's like she sees me, the real me, in a way no one else does. When we're together, it just feels right, you know? But it's also terrifying because it's all so new."

Normani nodded, her expression turning thoughtful as she took in Kat's words. "Sounds like you two have something really special. It's rare to find that kind of connection with someone. But girl, this is a big deal, especially with Noah being in the mix."

"I know, and that's what scares me," Kat admitted. "But Noah, he's been amazing about it. He just wants us to be happy, even if it's a bit weird for him."

"That's really mature of him," Normani said, impressed. "And it says a lot about how much he cares for both of you. But what about you and Billie? Where do you see this going?"

Kat paused, considering the question. "I'm not sure yet. We're just taking it one day at a time. But I do know I really like her and whatever this is, I want to find out, god I really do."

Smiling, Normani reached across the table, squeezing Kat's hand. "Then that's all that matters. Follow your heart, Kat. And remember, no matter what happens, you've got people who love and support you."

"Yea, I know thank you many"

"Of course"

"Honesty I can not believe it took me so long to admit that I like her."

"Yea me  neither, I have literally been telling you forever"

"I dont know Mani, there is just something about her. I never could have imagined myself liking a girl, but here I am. I just can't stop thinking about her"

"That's so cute," Normani teased. 

"I'm actually seeing her later," 

"You are?"

"yea,"

"You're so excited it's disgusting," Normani laughed.

Kat and Billie decided spend their day out together at a local arts festival. They walked side by side, close but not touching.

"Look at that painting," Billie yelled, leaning in close to Kat so she could hear over the crowd. Their shoulders brushed slightly. 

"It's beautiful," Kat agreed, but she wasn't looking at the painting. She was looking at Billie, her teal hair catching the sunlight, and reflecting the same colour of her eyes. 

Kat felt a strong urge to hold Billie's hand but hesitated, her gaze wandering around to see if anyone was paying them any attention. Catching Kat's glance, Billie understood. She gave Kat a reassuring smile and subtly reached out, her fingers brushing against Kat's before intertwining them. Immediately a wave of warmth was send through Kats body.
