Valentina

"You guys kissed?"

"He kissed me."

Micah shook her head. "How was it?"

"Uncomfortable."

"Really?"

"I have no interest in getting into any relationship, Micah."

"Who said anything about a relationship?"

"Danny and I hooked up, look how that turned out for me."

Micah sighed. "I know, but he's pretty hot from the photos that I saw on his Facebook."

"Micah!"

"What? I couldn't help it, and he said that he likes you? I would snatch him up before someone else does."

"I am there to do my job, not to do any extracurricular activities."

"Well, I am sure he would be better than Danny, Val."

"No. I don't want to get involved with him. Period. It's not mentally healthy and I am focused solely on my children. Men are not a priority in the least and if Justin tries to wiggle himself into my life, it will not happen."

"Damn, that's a shame."

"I have no interest in him. Sure, he's attractive but that's it. Look at what happened with Danny and I."

"Valentina, stop comparing everyone else to Danny. Justin may be different."

"No."

"Well, that could change. When are you seeing each other again?"

"I don't plan on seeing him outside of work again. I never should have said yes in the first place."

"Sorry, I don't mean to encourage you, I just want you to be happy is all."

"I appreciate it, but I want nothing to do with Justin besides having a work relationship. In my eyes, he's my boss. That's it, nothing more."

"Well, I have to go. I have a meeting tomorrow."

"Of course. Goodnight, Micah."

After Micah left, my phone vibrated.

Justin: I hope you liked that as much as I did.

Justin: I like you a lot, Valentina, whether you want to know that or not. I would love for you to eventually give me a chance.

Valentina: I am your employee, Justin. You shouldn't be thinking about me in that way.

Justin: Can't control our emotions baby

Valentina: Don't call me that.

Justin: I can't wait to meet your kids :)

Valentina: Never did I ever say that you could meet them.

Justin: Why not?

Valentina: I have a lot going on right now and I am not interested in having a relationship. It is nothing against you, I just am doing my job, I am not going to add emotions and sex into the mix.

Justin: Our sex would be incredible, Valentina. I will take care of you in ways that you could never imagine and that is a promise.

Valentina: You don't pick up on the hints, do you?

Justin: Not at all. When I see something that I like, I go for it and I don't stop until it is mine and you are that thing, Valentina. You are incredibly beautiful, and I can't let go of you.

Valentina: Goodnight, Justin

I put my phone on the nightstand and shut the light off. I had to put Justin in his place at some point because I simply had no reason to be interested in him. Period.
