Vivian POV

I gave the girl some blood clot medicine and started an IV drip. She was bleeding internally and I had no idea how bad it was. I knew Niko wouldn't take her to a hospital though. The way he threatened the boy he probably hoped the girl would die so he had one less prisoner to deal with.

Any hatred I had for that man just increased ten folds. How could he order these children to be taken then beaten like this? He may look like a beast, but he was a coward.

"Is she ok?" Michael asked with tears rapidly falling out of his eyes. All his anger was gone. Sadness and fear of losing his sister replaced it.

"I'm not sure. If she isn't bleeding too bad or not for too long the medicine I gave her should help stop the bleeding. This IV is hydrating her to help her heal. All we can do now is wait. Her heartbeat is strong though." I pressed two fingers to her wrist and took her heart rate again. It was steady so she should be ok.

"Paul, can you move a bed in here for the boy? He needs some sleep too."

Paul nodded to me then went to the next cell to drag a bed over. They were flimsy metal that even I could pick up. I'm sure actual prisons had better beds than this. Everything here was cruel and barbaric.

"Here Michael, let me move this next to Amy's bed and you can lay with her." Paul gently moved him but he never let go of her hand. He crawled on the mattress and cuddled her next to him. He whispered something in Italian, repeating it over and over. They laid there for at least an hour until the boy also passed out.

I watched both of them, laying myself on the other side of the girl. My fingers played with both their hair as I prayed they would be ok. They were too small to be here in this world. Too small to be hardened by the monsters like Niko of this world.

"Hey pretty girl! Can I lay next to you?" Paul had pulled in another bed butting it up against Amy's other side.

"Yes, please." I answered with tears in my eyes. Paul was kind to me, but he was one of them too. He was there when they took these kids and brought them back for Niko's wrath.

Once I took Amy's pulse for the hundredth time and it was still strong, I knew she was ok. My eyes were dry from crying so much and became heavy.

"Sleep V, it's been a long day." Paul's arm came around my waist and I let him comfort me. This was my world now. I didn't like it and I definitely didn't agree with it, but I had nothing else. I could help these kids and I would do the best I could for them to be safe.

"Amy! You're ok?" Michael cried out.

My eyes opened suddenly to the boy's voice and I saw him kissing his sister's head. Amy was awake but groggy. Her little body looked weak but she was awake. The smile that spread across my face almost hurt it was so wide.

"Get up!" Niko yelled standing over us.

"What are you doing creep?" I asked him rubbing my eyes. "How long have you been standing there?"

"Too fucking long!" Niko looked at me like he was planning my death over and over again. Why the hell is he so mad?

Paul sat up next to me, removing his arm that was still around my waist then reached over my body to run his fingers over the girl's face. "You gave us a scare little one. You feeling better?"

"Yes, I'm really hunger though." She said just as her stomach growled making us laugh a little.

"Breakfast is upstairs. All of you get up." Niko was still there staring at us like a beast.
