Vivian POV

"I'm not the Capo's woman." I huffed, storming out of the kitchen and going straight to his office. I slammed the door open, and the beast looked at me suspiciously.

"I'll call you back." He said, hanging up the phone. "You're mad again. I'm not sure I can keep up with these mood swings, Viv." Niko rubbed his hand down his face.

"Tell Paul I'm not your woman, and if he touches me, you won't remove his limps! I'm tired of this stupid possessive bullshit."

Niko stood up slowly, walked out of his office, and stood in front of Paul. "Did you touch her?" His eyes bore into his.

"No, sir. Ms. V wants to nap in the garden, but I told her I can't join her."

"Good man." Niko smiled and then walked back to me. "I don't see the problem." He said to me with a cocky smile.

"Do you want me to fight with you?" I glared at him, crossing my arms.

"No, but I do like it when you get all worked up." He glared back at me. "What do you want Viv?"

"I want my friend back. You can't just make everyone ignore me!"

"He isn't going to lay next to you and touch you." Niko's voice turned cold as he stared at me.

"You're an asshole. I won't be just yours. You brought Paul back to help me, and now you're taking him away. I have nothing here, and I'm tired of how you constantly take everything away from me."

"Be careful with that mouth, Vivian." He warned me.

"Don't worry, I will. It will remain shut just like my legs, asshole." I stormed out of his office and met the kids in the kitchen to take them out back. Every time I slept with that man, I regretted it the next day.

The kids sensed my anger, which I didn't mean to take out on them. I laid the blanket down and got comfortable, closing my eyes. Amy lay next to me, wrapping her hand in mine, and Michael lay next to his sister.

They were sound asleep after a few minutes, and I turned to watch them. I felt hopeless here. I couldn't have a life or even help these kids. They were beaten, probably every day, and even though they were safer here, it was still a prison. Could they go to school? Have friends? Attended family parties? Everything was so unfair.

I got up carefully to avoid disturbing them and went to my greenhouse. "Watch them! Let me know if they wake up, and let them know I'm right over there. Can you handle those orders?" I gave Paul a nasty look, making him clench his jaw.

"Got it, V."

"Don't call me that. I'm not your friend, remember."

His eyes met mine with sadness in them, but I walked away. I thought Paul was on my side here. My ally in Niko's prison, but I guess not. He was a minion like the rest, and I will always be alone.

I spent a few hours preparing my roses to transplant outside, checking on the kids occasionally. I don't think they slept last night. I needed to make them feel more secure, but I wasn't sure how to do that.

"Are you done with your tantrum?" Niko asked as I walked back to my greenhouse.

"Be quiet. They are sleeping, brute." I scolded him and then walked away. He glanced at the small bodies asleep on a blanket under a tree. He gave Paul a nod and then, of course, followed me.

"Why are you pissed? Paul is my third in command, and he has a job to do. A job that isn't babysitting kids. He is only here for you."

"This isn't about Paul standing guard; it's about you alienating him from me. Did you have a talk with him too? Like you did to Gio?"
