"What a headache..." Y/N grumbled out, returning to sit on the engawa for the night. Today was one of the training days of the week, and it was nothing but exasperating. She had to meticulously swing and strike with her naginata with rigor again and again, honing her skills to absolute perfection.

So with every swing, came another wave of annoyance.

A light sweat coated her forehead as she stopped for a moment to get into stance.

Nature Breathing: Sixth Form, Vines of Wrath

She elegantly twisted and bent her body, flowing with the way of her weapon, creating wave-like horizontal, vertical, and diagonal slashes. It felt like she could see the vines practically trailing from her sword, writhing and begging to let their fury out on someone. She felt fluid, as if she were part of the design of nature herself. It was as if she could feel it in your own lungs. In her blood flow. In her head.

It was everywhere.

Just one more form.

Nature Breathing: Second Form, Blooming Lotus

It was a pierce attack based on speed, leaving her to jab your naginata forward. From there, she made small, yet lethal cuts through the air, forming the shape of a lotus flower in milliseconds.

Just one more time.

Nature Breathing: Fifth Form, Winds of Trouble

This attack was jagged and rough, especially difficult to manage with a naginata. Serrated slashes tore through the air, whipping past her. It was a defensive attack that could deal damage offensively, too. It puts room between the target while cutting them.

Just one more breath.

Nature Breathing: Seventh Form, Babbling Brook

This was by far the most elegant and beautiful of her attacks. She flowed and winded through twists and turns, her body proving mighty flexible as she moved like crystal clear water. It was a combative offensive attack, gentle while still being able to cause fatal damage.

Just one more-

There was a noise. A rustling. A feeling. Something was approaching. Something was near and it was close. Y/N quietly sheathed her naginata and fastened her mask a bit tighter. Surely, no demon would be here. It was daytime after all.

She silently stepped and crouched behind a bushel that held edible berries the color of plums. Plucking one off, she put one in her mouth and smiled happily at the nostalgic, warm feeling that came with the taste. So as she listened and scoped out the area for any visitors, she ate berries and hummed in pleasure.

She couldn't help but feel a bit of happiness when she sensed the presence of someone nearby. Y/N hadn't come across a person in a long time. It had to have been a couple years, at least. Her stomach became hopeful and bubbly as she began to jump place to place, looking for a sign of life.
