Chapter -24

May. POV.

Today is the day of my competition. I decided to go alone to the competition.  This is my battle which I have to fight alone . With this competition  I will shut all the mouths. I know that all people will never be satisfied with this but I can't close everyone's mouths and thoughts. They will always think of a way to pull me down. So I will only do it for myself and Alex and  the people who love me.

Anaya dropped me off there as Alex was busy with the collection of evidences . He will release all the evidence after the competition. When I entered the competition venue all the participants were giving me looks. These days no one wants to find out the truth. They all believe what they see which is sad because there are always two sides to the truth.

I also ignored them all because I know that I am not wrong. Infact I was the one who was wronged. But their words are nothing in front of the comfort of my beloved people.

I only focused on the competition. They provided is with the same material for cloth and from that only we are to made beautiful dresses. They gave us Spandex fabric. The qualities of this fabric is that it is  abrasion resistant,Elastic , lightweight and strong. This fabric is difficult to sew and we have to do it in two hours . So it is the competition of race and accuracy. All the dresses made will be auctioned and the money from that will be donated to the poor budding designers who are in need of financial help . Form the money scholarships will also be provided to the excellent students who are good at designing. The competition is for the noble cause and that's why many well renowned designers are also here.

I appreciate these types of initiative and even participating in such competition is worth it.  The invigilator showed us our seats. It was a small table with a sewing machine and all the threads and needles for fabric. There were also embroidery material which can be used. All over all the things which a designer can need is present and if they want something else then there is a shelf infront of us contain all the materials we need. It is just that the time is yours to manage. Firstly we have to draw our design and will have to write the measurements according to which we are going to sew our dress. The dressed will be presented anonymously and among the dresses love voting will be done to select the winners. Andas the designers have no idea about the fabric it is difficult to make the dress accordingly. And there is even less chance of cheating. All you have to do is to design perfectly. The audience will only be able to see your dress making process after the competition. Till the competition is going on only the face of the participant will be showcased and all the participants will have their own separate love going on.

My family has no idea about me being a fashion designer also and I know they might be laughing at me at this moment. And truthfully I don't care.

I drew the design within ten minutes as I had the rough idea of what I want to make. After half an hour the invigilator came and took the designs and after designing I started working on making the dress. We have  choice of ample of colours from where we can take the fabric of our choice.  I took two spandex fabric. One white and one blue. I decided to make an Autumn Blue embroidered V-neck  Wrap cocktail dress. The embroidery it did was autumn leaves . The dress was white and blue. On the white portion there was blue embroidery all over  and blue portion I kept neat. I actually make only those dresses which I can wear myself comfortably. I don't like the dresses which makes me self conscious but if the  person who wants to wear the dress demands it then I double make it sure that there is no wardrobe malfunction.

After the dress was ready the invigilator came and sent me to the room where the  female model was ready to wear my dress. When she saw my dress she was so escastic. Even though she knows about my rumours but she is very professional and treated me right.

After two hours the models were ready and based on the designs only five hundred dresses were selected to be showcased and I am happy that my design was also picked up.

Then it was time for the model to do ram walk and based on the look of the dress voting was done. All the designers whose dresses were selected were escorted to the rooms without any source of competition and just a camera which was live streaming. After one hour the whole ramp walk was done amd now it was time to select the winners. We all were very excited. The model wearing the dresses  which won were called on stage and after calling all the winner models then the designers were called up on the stage.

After all the ten models were on the stage, we have no idea as to who won and then slowly they started calling the names of the first ten  winners. I was nervous as all the famous designers ames were being called upon. There were also few unknown name and father the nine names were done I was sad as why I didn't win but when the called up  my name to come on the stage I was so happy that I started crying. The model named Rebecca who was wearing my dress came and helped me walk to the podium where all the winning dresses were. They all clapped for me and the whole venue was echoing with the loud claps as if they were telling me that this is not a dream. All the winners congratulated me and when I looked at their designs I realized that I have so much to learn because all the dresses have different designs and they all were beautiful. Down stage there were also many designers who lost and were with their models and all of them looked happy and proud.

Then the award ceremony was done. When it was my turn to get the award. One of the judges patted me on the back and said

"Sorry for believing the rumours. You are a good and talented girl. Just keep doing what you are doing and if won't be long before you reach the heights where everyone only looks up to you. "

After receiving the award I left the venue with Andrew and Anaya who came to pick me up in a car. They both looked genuinely happy for me. Anaya came to me and hugged me and twirled me around and said

"I knew my bestie the best. Congratulations. "

And when she put me down Andrew came and hugged me and said

"Congratulations sister in law."

This brought a smile to my face and now I just want to go home and hug Alex.  Anaya and Andrew dropped me off at Alex's apartment and said that they have somewhere to go but I know that they want to go e us some private time as during the last week we haven't seen each other much and Alex was so busy with handling my rumours that he barely got any sleep.

So when I entered the apartment I saw Alex sitting in the lobby which was decorated ith balloons and the banner saying ' Congratulations ' . There was also a fruit cake on the table and Alex was wearing a black t shirt and white pants. When he saw me coming he got up and came towards me. I quickly ran towards him and hugged him and said

"Thank you my love for so much love. "
