༄Travis POV༄Keshia has been overcome with emotions and tears all day. Earlier this morning, we received the difficult news from her doctor that she is facing challenges with conceiving due to infertility. This diagnosis has left her feeling heartbroken and defeated, as she has always dreamed of starting a family with me.
"Kesh, I understand that this news is difficult to process, but we will navigate all potential avenues and explore the most effective treatments to facilitate our journey into parenthood. I am committed to supporting her every step of the way..." I offer these words in an attempt to console her. "I realize that this is a lot to handle, especially with my unpredictable schedule during basketball season. I have contacted your mother..."
Before I could conclude my statement, she brushed aside my hands, exited the living room, and exited the house, slamming the door behind her. As I watched her leave, a sense of helplessness washed over me.
She needed some time alone to process everything that she had just heard. I could see the pain in her eyes and could feel the weight of her emotions as she walked away. It broke my heart to see her like that, but I knew that she needed space to deal with her feelings in her own way.
Later that day I arrived for basketball training.
"This season, time keeping is a must guys!" I heard coach John say as I walked into the gym. I tried to focus on the drills and the game ahead, but my mind kept drifting back to Keshia.
"Hey, you good?" Jermaine asked me during a water break. I sighed, trying to keep my composure.
"Personal stuff, I can't discuss it right now," I replied.
"Got it, man. Just know we're here for you if you need anything," he responded.
After practice, I went and bought Keshia's favorite flowers and some comfort food to take home to her. I was hoping that these small gestures would help to lift her spirits in some way. When I got back home, Keshia was sitting on the couch doing research on her laptop.
I handed her the flowers and food, and sat down next to her. As she took them from me, a small smile crept onto her face. We sat in silence for a while, and I could see the emotions playing across her face as she processed everything that had happened that day.
Finally, she turned to me and whispered, "Thank you for being here for me, for understanding."
I wrapped my arm around her, pulling her close and whispered back, "I will always be here for you, no matter what. We will get through this together."
As we sat there together, I knew that we had a long road ahead of us. The journey to parenthood may not be easy, but with each other for support, we would be able to overcome any obstacle that came our way.

༄Renae POV༄
It was a few minutes past eight in the morning. "Jer, honey, wake up," I eagerly woke Jermaine up, knowing that today is my first pregnancy scan.
"Five more minutes," he groaned, trying to pull the covers over his head.
"You know what the traffics like in the morning, I don't want to be late, babe," I gently nudged him. I had been eagerly anticipating this moment for weeks, and I couldn't wait to see our baby for the first time. Jermaine finally opened his eyes and gave me a sleepy smile.
After getting ready and a quick breakfast, we rushed to the hospital, trying to beat the morning rush hour traffic. The anticipation was building with each passing minute, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. Since my surf incident in Hawaii, I've been anxious, wondering if everything will be okay. But I've been praying and trusting God.
As we arrived at the hospital and checked in, the waiting room seemed to drag on forever. Each passing second felt like an eternity, but finally, our names were called, and we were led to the ultrasound room.
The doctor spoke, "I've looked through your medical information that was sent over from Dr. Celina in Hawaii, and I understand this is your first ultrasound. Let's take a look and see how your little one is doing."
Jermaine held my hand tightly as the doctor began the ultrasound. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. The sound of our baby's heartbeat filled the room, and tears welled up in my eyes. In that moment, all my worries melted away, replaced with overwhelming love and gratitude for this little life that we had created together.
"For now, we cannot ascertain the gender of your baby, but rest assured, all appears to be in good health," the doctor reassured us with a smile. "The documentation provided indicates a minor injury sustained during your time in Hawaii, which may result in heightened back discomfort as your pregnancy progresses. I recommend regular massages and yoga to alleviate any discomfort. Please no heavy lifting," she advised. "Better yet, let Jermaine do all the lifting," she added with humor.
"Oh I certainly will," I giggled.
He smiled, and planted a kiss on my forehead, still taken aback by the scan in awe, his eyes glued on the screen.
"The baby heartbeat is strong," the doctor pointed out.
The doctor finished up the ultrasound and printed out a few photos for us to take home. As we left the hospital, Jermaine couldn't stop talking about how amazing it was to see our baby for the first time.
I couldn't agree more. The experience was truly magical, and it made me even more excited for the journey ahead. The feeling of becoming a parent was overwhelming, but in the best way possible. As we drove home, we talked about potential baby names and nursery ideas. The excitement was palpable, and I couldn't contain my joy.
