As we sat down for lunch together, my mother and I began to catch up on all the latest happenings in our lives. The conversation soon turned to Renae's pregnancy, and my mother couldn't help but share some of her own experiences from when she was pregnant.

"You should be lucky Renae's not cranky 24/7," she remarked with a playful smile. "I was when I was pregnant with you and Ariel.

"It's amazing how much mothers go through for their children, even before they are born," I commented.

"Have you decided on a name for the baby yet? I remember how much thought and consideration your grandparents and I put into choosing your name."

"Considering he was conceived in Hawaii, we're both thinking of choosing a Hawaiian name for him. We want something that holds meaning and reflects the memories we made on that trip."

I continued, "And most of their region names are unique, so we want to make sure we pick the perfect one that suits him. It's a big responsibility to choose a name that he will carry with him for the rest of his life. Renae and I have been going through lists of Hawaiian names, looking up their meanings and origins to find the one that resonates with us the most."

"That's a thoughtful idea. Names hold so much significance, and these days parents aren't putting much thought in to the names they choose for their children," mom commented.

As we continued to chat, memories of my childhood flooded back. I remembered all the times my mother had sacrificed putting my needs before her own. Our lunch was filled with laughter as we reminisced about old times and shared stories.

As we finished our meal, we talked more about the baby and how we were preparing for his arrival. It was comforting to hear her experiences and advice as I prepared to become a parent myself.

Upon returning home later that evening, I was greeted by the sound of laughter and chatter coming from the living room. Walking in, Renae was deeply engrossed in wedding planning discussions with Evie, Maya and Keshia. Evie, who was scheduled to tie the knot in the middle of summer, was eagerly sharing her ideas and seeking advice from Renae.
