Keoni has unfortunately come down with a cold this week. It breaks my heart to see him feeling under the weather. I know that this cold will pass soon and my little trooper will be back to his happy, bubbly self in no time.

He's been refusing the bottle this week, so I've been nursing him more frequently to ensure he stays hydrated. I've also been keeping a close eye on his temperature, making sure to give him the right dosage of medicine as prescribed by his pediatrician. Even though his sleep has been disrupted by his discomfort, I've been doing everything I can to keep him as comfortable and cozy as possible.

"I'm not pointing fingers, but he has obviously caught it from baby class," I mumbled to Jermaine as we enjoyed a day by the pool side.

Jermaine responded, "Well, it's bound to happen with all those little ones sharing toys and germs. At least he's getting it out of the way now and building up his immunity."

"I suppose you're right. It just breaks my heart to see him feeling so miserable. But you're right, it's all part of the growing process and building up his immune system," I replied.

"Are we going to talk about this morning?" He asked, referring to the pregnancy test I had taken early this morning.

My heart skipped a beat as I remembered the double lines indicating a positive result. We haven't had any time to talk about it as we've been tending to Keoni. But now that the topic has been brought up, we couldn't avoid the conversation any longer.

"So we've got another little one on the way, and if I'm honest, not as nervous as I thought I would be. There's a lot of women struggling to conceive and I consider myself lucky to have this blessings. Having a sibling close in age to Keoni will be amazing for both of them," I expressed with a warm smile, planting a kiss on Keoni forehead as he snuggled in my arms drinking his milk. "How do you feel about it?"

"Of course I'm thrilled about it. I just don't want you feeling overwhelmed. We will have our hands full with two little ones, but I know we will be able to handle it together..." Jermaine trailed off.

As we sat by the pool, soaking in the sunshine and chatting about our expanding family, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for this precious life we are building together.

Later that evening, a few of our family relatives came by. My aunts and Sonia spent the day preparing for a family barbecue we're hosting tomorrow to celebrate my mom's birthday. As it's still early days, Jermaine and I haven't shared the news of my pregnancy just yet.
