Hey dad, you're a grandad again!
One day you'll be able to meet him,
I'm just not sure when. How precious it would be,
If you were here to meet your first grandson,
It wasn't the easiest thing to get through,
But you'll be proud of how well I've done.I often catch him staring past my face,
I sometimes think that maybe you're there,
So I don't disturb him,
Just incase.I imagine all the love and fun you'd both have,
I'll forever wish that you could be here dad.I'm wishing he grows to have many of your traits,
To be strong, kind, loving, and amazingly great! It's heartbreaking to think of all that you'll both miss out,
But he'll grow up to know you,
Of that, you can have no doubt.Maybe you could pop down and kiss him sweetly goodnight,
Keep him safe and guide him with your light. We can't be together for a long while yet,
But until then,
Dad,
I want you to know,
You're a grandad again!
