Unfortunately for Isabelle, Derek had not been kidding when he said he was enrolling her in Beacon Hills High. The principal let Isabelle take a tour of the school. There was only one place she wanted to see. She found the field pretty easily, all she had to do was follow the screams. She sat at the benches next to a brunette and watched the first round of eliminations from the team.

“Allison!”

Isabelle recognized the cheery voice and looked to see the one and only Lydia Martin make her way towards her. Well to the girl next to her. Lydia paused when she saw Isabelle. Her jaw dropped.

"Isabelle?!"

“Oh my god!” Isabelle laughed, standing when Lydia ran the rest of the way to her and wrapped her in a bear hug. “I can’t believe you're here!”

Me neither, is what Isabelle wanted to say but instead she said, “It’s only for awhile. Derek’s here on work related things. So I’m coming to school starting monday.”

Lydia was smiling from ear to ear. “That's amazing!" Allison coughed and it took Lydia a second to remember Allison was right in between them.

"Isabelle meet Allison." Lydia introduced them. "Allison, Isabelle. She's new here, and Isabelle used to live here."

Isabelle directs her smile to Allison, extending her hand. "Nice to meet you." Allison smiled back warmly and shook her hand. "It's nice to meet you too.”

"Oh I love your hair," Allison complimented. "My parents would never let me have pink highlights."

Isabelle gave her a small smile. "Thanks."

"So?!" Lydia squeals, breaking Isabelle's train of thoughts as she takes Isabelle's hands and sits her down on the bleachers again.

"Tell me everything! If Derek's with you does that mean Laura came?"

Isabelle tried to not visibly tense at the mention of Laura. Her fingernails still had dirt underneath them from burying her. Lydia had no idea what Isabelle was. She kept it a secret, she couldn't tell anyone. So it killed her. And it killed her that she couldn't find comfort in her old friend, because she couldn't tell her about Laura either. Laura didn’t want anyone to know she was back in Beacon Hills while she was investigating.

Isabelle forced a smile. "No. She's busy back home. But what about Hannah? How's she doing?"

Isabelle had seen Derek's ex-girlfriend on the news sometimes. Though she was stationed in DC, she would sometimes see her on the local New York stations when it came to world wide news. Hannah was also Lydia's older sister.

She remembered how as kids it grossed Isabelle out that her cousin was dating her best friend's sister. Lydia thought it was cute and if they got married it would make them family. Hannah was the only one who knew Laura was in town.

Lydia shrugs. "Same old. Although I didn't tell you yet because Derek and all but Hannah got engaged."

Isabelle's eyes bulged. "Really? That's awesome!" Note to self: keep it from Derek.

Lydia nods. "Although it probably means we won't see her often. She's thinking of sticking around DC."

Isabelle smiles sympathetically. And wanting to shift the conversation off the topic of Hannah, who also happened to be Laura's best friend, turned to Allison.

"So Allison, if you're new where are you from?"

Allison shakes her head dismissively. "Well my family moves around a lot, we're hoping Beacon Hills becomes our permanent home. At least till I leave for college."
