Season 2 - Episode 2
"You know this is pointless right," Laura Hale said as she opened the window to her bedroom and let her boyfriend in. Shane Argent couldn't hide a grin as he climbed through the window and collapsed on the window sill seat.
"Come on moonshine, where's the fun in that?"
Laura rolled her eyes at his nickname for her, but a smile still danced on her lips as she closed the window. "I'm serious, everyone here has super hearing. I might as well open the front door for you."
Laura's entire family, save for a few, had super hearing. They just haven't bothered to bust her for sneaking Shane in the house. Or rather, bust Shane for sneaking into the house.
"That's why we'll be quiet." Shane teased before pressing a kiss on her cheek. Laura chuckled in amusement. "Shay, we have to find some other place for this."
"Well what do you suggest? It's not like we can go to my place."
Shane came from a family of hunters. Werewolf hunters. The famous Argents. He was being trained to do the same, but it's not what he wanted. Shane's father had already flipped when he found out he was friends with Derek Hale, Laura's brother. That was about 4 years ago. And he's been riding on Shane's back ever since. Well, more so than usual.
"I'm sort of sick of having to use Hannah's lake house."
Shane smirked, "Oh don't go lying. You love sneaking out to the lake house."
Laura fought a smile, swaying from side to side. "Maybe." She laughed, "Alright here, if you're staying we might as well get some popcorn because there is no way anything is happening tonight." Laura approached the light switch just as Shane protested.
"Hang on, I'll go get some food!"
"Oh no, you're staying up here."
Just because Laura's mother Talia, didn't bust her for sneaking her boyfriend in the house after hours, doesn't mean she wouldn't bust her if she caught them. Laura turns the light on, and gets a good look at Shane's face before he swiftly turns around. Laura held her breath at the flash of purple she saw. "Shane," She stormed up to him, grabbing his arm and spinning him back around to face her.
Shane sighed and hung his head. Revealing his dark black eye. Laura gasped. "What happened?"
"Oh you know," Shane muttered as Laura walked up to him and gently traced the bruised eye. "It was a gift from dear old dad."
Shane didn't know why Laura always acted surprised when he showed up with a bruise. Half the time he was sporting a new one, but it was usually easier to hide. Gerard always hit him somewhere he could easily cover up. But he was pissed off that night, more than he'd ever seen him. Kate had spilled the beans to their father about his relationship with Laura. He didn't take it well.
"Oh Shane," Laura muttered softly, brushing back his hair from his face. Shane moved his head away, taking her hands in his. "Come on babe, stop worrying."
"How can I not?" Laura questioned. "Why can't your siblings do anything?"
Shane laughed sarcastically. "My siblings? Chris is across the country with his wife and kid. A kid I have only met once. And Kate is the reason I got this black eye."
"What do you mean?"
Shane sighed, "She told my dad about us."
"Oh no," Laura moaned in despair. She raked her hands through her hair. Laura knew that getting involved with an Argent could end in disaster. Her uncle Peter had warned her about it. But she didn't care.
