The next morning Yunlan awoke first and immediately went over towards Wei and felt relieved to find him still in a sound asleep, so he left thee room quietly and hurried downstairs for coffee and something to eat before he quickly washed and dressed. When he returned to the room, Wei was beginning to awaken, recognising the comfort of his own bed and looked fixedly at Yunlan who was sitting on the edge,
"A.Lan ...it is you." Wei tried to smile but couldn't, he could only stare. Yunlan leaned a little closer to him as he spoke softly,
"Xiao Wei, you need rest, so for a while I'll be here making sure that you have a break, and when I have to leave, there will be a guard beside you who will tell me if you don't do as you're told. Come, I'll help you bathe and then back to bed for today, rest your body and mind. I will be at the office for one hour and then I'll come back."
Yunlan looked into Wei's eyes which were very tired, and lacked the brilliance he'd seen previously. He leaned closer and kissed Wei's forehead softly as he closed his eyes, hoping that he was doing the right thing for him, before he helped Wei to the bathroom and ran a bath. After he left him relaxing in the lavender scented water, Yunlan chose some fresh clothing and quickly returned bringing everything with him, before he helped Wei to bathe.
"Xiao Wei, when this is all over, we will go to the country and live the rest of our lives in peace." Yunlan said as he gently washed Wei's face and neck with a soft sponge.
"A.Lan, this will never be over, only our existence will end until the next one comes along and then Black Robe will keep watching again and again." Wei said sadly.
"Then we must find a way for you to be happy now and in the future. I will always return to you, Xiao Wei."
"I know you will. Always." Wei replied as he took the sponge from Yunlan and kissed the palm of his hand.
Yunlan left Wei to dress himself while he brought him some breakfast and waited for him to come and rest on top of the bed.
"Eat everything my love or the guard will tell me if you don't. I'll be away for one hour and then I'll come back."
Yunlan sat for a minute watching as Wei began to eat slowly, and smiled at him before he went downstairs for his instant transport to the office.
The staff were waiting outside the locked office because Yunlan had the keys and were relieved when they heard the door being opened, allowing them to enter. Yunlan hadn't realised that he had forgotten to leave the keys with Chu but that was something he would change today, and he gave them to the guard, asking him to have another four sets made. His team watched as the guard dropped to his knees and placed his left hand over his heart when he answered Yunlan, which had no meaning to Gelan or Lin Jing because they had seen it yesterday. However Chu and Daqing were different and immediately understood the reason as they dropped to their knees and followed suit.
