"It's nice to see you again, Lewis. It's been a year" said the man standing before him.
Lewis nodded in acknowledgment, though his attention was only half on the conversation. His eyes kept darting around the room, searching the crowd for the woman he had been hoping to see. The constant movement of people around him made him feel slightly dizzy. He had been scanning the museum, but she was nowhere to be found "Yes, it's good to be back. How's your business going?" he asked, finally refocusing on the elderly millionaire in front of him.
"Thank God, it’s going well. You know, Lewis, I’m so glad I took a vacation in Monaco last month. I fell in love with the lifestyle there, and I'm planning to buy a property in Monaco this year" the older man shared.
"I'm happy for you, Joaquin" Lewis replied, feeling a sense of relief when George joined their conversation. As soon as George arrived, Lewis excused himself, his heart skipping a beat as he spotted the woman he'd been searching for. A wide smile spread across his face as he made his way toward her.
"Nice painting, isn’t it?" he commented as he approached, standing beside her.
Lewis saw how her reaction changed fast when he stood next to her he turned his attention to the painting in front of them ignoring the fact that she gave him an annoying look, he's not really into art he often struggled to understand its deeper meanings. He much preferred making music and writing lyrics. But he tried to give it a chance and find the message of the painting, he quietly judged the man inside the artwork.
"he was reading quietly as if he had no problem, sitting in the wooden chair behind the huge window hmm...that's a nice place to read! the artwork also shows a few canvases hanging on the wall, maybe he is a painter? maybe the bright colors of the painting showed peaceful life?"
Simone's face crumpled as she looked at the man next to her, she doesn't know why but she's really annoyed at him it's not that he's ugly, the truth is his beauty is jaw-dropping Lewis is undeniably handsome and his charisma is very strong, Jordan is right but Simone can't see that, she only gets more and more annoyed the longer she stares at him. Lewis glance at her again and saw how she glared at him like judging his entire soul "You hate me that much, Simone?" he asked and smirked.
She rolled her eyes and decided not to waste her voice to a man like him "Your personality doesn’t match your fashion sense" he added, his gaze sweeping over her outfit from head to toe.
Simone clenched her fists, trying to control her urge to punch him. She glanced down at her clothes—a cozy sky-blue knit sweater, a long plaid vintage skirt, and her favorite Converse sneakers. How dare he criticize my fashion? she thought, her frustration bubbling up. Especially when he looks like a fashion disaster himself!
"Are you judging me?" she snapped, her voice rising loud enough to attract the attention of a few people nearby.
"I'm not!" Lewis defended himself quickly "Why would I judge you? You look beautiful."
"So what did you mean by saying my fashion sense doesn’t match my personality?" she asked, irritation still lacing her voice "Answer me!"
"I meant that you look soft on the outside but are actually tough on the inside. Now do you get it?" he explained smoothly, his tone calm and measured. "Don’t be mad"
"I don’t care" Simone huffed, looking away as she took a deep breath her patience running out.
"So... did you paint this?" Lewis asked, pointing to the artwork in front of them. Simone nodded without looking at him "What’s the name of this masterpiece?" he asked, but when she didn’t respond, he fell silent, trying to resist the urge to ask more. He couldn’t hold back, though, and glanced at her again "How much are y—"
