It had been one hour ago since Lewis landed in Paris, after one week he finally went back. He glanced at Angela who had come to fetched him at the airport, Angela is his former physiotherapist and assistant.
"I'm your driver for today Ma'am" he said as he started the engine of the car.
Angela Cullen scrolled through her phone, her eyes widening with admiration. "Wow, she has some amazing artworks!" she exclaimed in awe as she continued to browse Simone's Instagram account. "But there's not a single picture of her."
"She's a private person" Lewis replied, his attention firmly on the road as he navigated the streets of Paris. "I think she valued her paintings more than herself" Angela chuckled.
"I want to meet her" Angela said with a hint of excitement in her voice. Lewis glanced at her briefly before returning his focus to the road. "But I think she might freak out."
"Yeah, and she might think you're my mom" Lewis teased, a playful smirk forming on his lips.
"Excuse me!" Angela shot back, feigning offense. Lewis laughed at her reaction, the tension between them easing.
"So, what do I need to know? What does a pregnant woman need?" Lewis asked, his tone becoming more serious as he sought her advice.
Angela turned off her phone and stared out the window at the beautiful Parisian architecture passing by. It was her one-week vacation in Paris with her family, and she wanted to make the most of it, but she also wanted to help her friend.
"Well, there are quite a few things to consider" Angela began thoughtfully. "First and foremost, she needs emotional support. Pregnancy can be a rollercoaster of emotions, so just being there for her and listening is really important. Encourage her to talk about how she's feeling, both physically and emotionally."
Lewis nodded, absorbing her words. "Got it. Emotional support is key."
"Secondly" Angela continued "she’ll need to focus on a healthy diet. Plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. And, of course, staying hydrated is crucial. You might want to help her with meal planning or cooking nutritious meals."
"Okay, I can do that!" Lewis said, making a mental note. "What else?"
"Regular prenatal checkups are essential," Angela added. "Make sure she goes to all her appointments and follows her doctor's advice. Prenatal vitamins are also important, especially ones with folic acid."
"Right, regular checkups and vitamins" Lewis repeated, wanting to remember every detail.
"And don’t forget about exercise" Angela said with a smile. "Gentle activities like walking, swimming, or prenatal yoga can help keep her healthy and reduce stress. But always check with her doctor before starting any new exercise routine."
"Exercise, got it" Lewis said, feeling a bit more confident.
Angela turned her attention back to him, her expression softening. "And most importantly, just be patient and understanding. Pregnancy can be overwhelming, and she might have days when she feels exhausted or emotional. Just let her know you’re there for her, no matter what."
Lewis nodded, appreciating Angela’s advice. "thank you so much, Angela" the older woman nodded and tapped his shoulder.
"did you already tell your family about this?" Angela asked, her curiosity evident.
Lewis nodded, keeping his eyes on the road. "Yeah, I did. At first, they were shocked, but I expected that and they were concerned, of course...but I told them they'll meet her when everything is fine—of course it's still her decision." Lewis sighed, recalling the conversation.
