God, I love these kids

Charlie's POV:

I get up to Nick's annoying alarm beeping in my ear.

"Nicholas! Turn that off!" I whine, throwing my head under my pillow.
"Sorry, Love."

The alarm turns off and I can actually hear myself think.

"You need to change that, Nick. It's painful to listen to."

He laughs, resulting in me elbowing him in the stomach.

"Ow!" he laughs again, "Ok, fine, I deserve that."

He rolls onto his side and pulls me in for a kiss, it takes me by surprise but I slowly start to sink into it.

"You do realise that we need to wake up 3 children, right now." I say, pulling away from the kiss.
"Mm. You do it."
"Nick, come on! You promised Lily a bagel for breakfast!"
"Fine!"

We climb out of bed and Nick walks into the bathroom.

"I'll be 5 minutes!" He calls out.

I walk into the hall and knock on the spair room's door.

Shira answers, fully dressed in her Higgs uniform.

"Hey! W-" she stops, "You look tired."
"You could say that."
"Did I wake you up?"
"No, no! I was actually coming to get you up."
"Oh, yeah. I get up quite early, sorry."
"Don't apologise! Take your time. We'll be downstairs if you need us."
"Thank you!"

She closes the door and I start walking over to Oscar's bedroom, but the door is already open.

"Where's Papa?" Oscar asks as Nick buttons up his shirt.
"I think he's just-"

He notices me standing in the doorframe and a smile plasters his face instantly.

"I think your Papa is right there!" Nick points up to me.
"What?" Oscar turns his head round to look at me, "PAPA!!"

I sigh with a smile before crouching down and giving him a hug.

"Hey, baby! You're wide awake!"
"I can't wait to see my friends!"
"It's been two weeks, Oscar."

He just jumps up and down, squealing.

"Ok, calm down! We don't want Lily to get a fright!" Nick comes over to us.

"I'll get him ready if you'll get Lily."
"Yeah, ok!"

I walk into Lily's room to find her sleeping upside down. Her legs on her pillow and her head resting on her covers.

"Lils! Time to get up!" I whisper yell.

She makes a little grumble sound before opening her eyes.

"Papa?" She grumbles, looking up at me with confusion.
"Yeah, baby."

She smiles up at me and does grabby hands.

I pick her up and she hugs into my chest.

"You want breakfast?"

I jump at the voices in the hall.

"Papa! Why scary?" She asks with a tilt to her head.
"It's ok! Papa just got a little fright."

I carry her into the hall and see Shira walking downstairs with Oscar.

"Daddy!!" Lily shrieks, throwing her hands in the air.
"Hey, Darling!" Nick has a cheeky grin on his face.

"Bye." Shira waves us goodbye before walking into school.

We watch as she meets her friends and goes inside the building, leaving just me, Nick, Lilya nd Oscar in the car.

"Come on, Oz, let's get you to school." Nick turns to the back of the car.
"YAY!!"

God, I love these kids.
