unknown number Hey Josie, it's Taylor.
I got your number from Aaron and I wanted
to ask you a HUGEEEE question. If you say yes
it'll only be a secret until Saturday...

unknown number The big secret is that I'm
going back on tour and I have been watching
a few of your performances and listening to
your music and I just think you'd make an
excellent opener for my tour which I'll be
calling 'The Eras Tour'

unknown number I know this might be a lot
to digest but feel free to let me know if you have
any questions! I hope to hear from you soon 💜

"Holy fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" I shout, dropping my phone onto the kitchen counter, my jaw hangs down to the floor as tears brim my eyes. Everyone acts quickly and runs into the kitchen with fear written all over their features. Jack slides in between my brother and best friend, holding me by my arms. "Josie? What's wrong?" He gently squeezes me to get my attention.

I wipe my eyes, holding a hand to my chest. "You can't say anything!" I tell everyone, pointing a finger at everyone and watching them nod individually just to be sure I can tell them without worrying that they'll blab to someone. "Taylor Swift just asked me to open for her tour." I say through shaky breaths.

I still can't fucking believe she even asked me. "What the fuck!" Quinn shouts, his eyes zeroing in on me to see if I'm lying or not since there's been no sign of her wanting to go on tour. Jack's concerned expression turns into an excited one as he takes in the words I just said out loud. "That's amazing, baby! I'm so happy for you." He says, kissing my temple while my other friends rally around me to congratulate me.

"Dude, what the fuck are we going to do?" Mere asks, putting her hands through the roots of her long blonde hair. I shrug my shoulders, shaking my head, still speechless from the text message on her phone. Mere hugs me, leaning down to rest her head on my shoulder while she reads the text pulled up on my screen.

"She's going on tour, I can't believe she didn't tell me." Trevor says slightly late to the conversation only picking up on part of what everyone else is talking about. Meredith looks at Trevor, narrowing her eyes at him to silently judge him before focusing back on me. We start thinking of a calm response to the text the Taylor Alison Swift.

Meredith reads over what I'm typing, telling me to add punctuation so I don't look illiterate in front of a doctor. I brush my hair over my shoulder, wiping the sweat building up on the back of my head on my tank top.

josie Oh my god, hi! I would
love nothing more than to
open for you, thank you so so
much for considering me it means
the world to me!

I read the text back to my friends wanting to show that I am excited and not treating this opportunity as anything near ordinary. I want to let her know that this isn't something I'm taking lightly. This is everything I have ever wanted. Recognition from my idol, from my role model, and the fact that she has seen clips of me performing and thought I would be a good person to open for her tour.

Meredith approves of the message and watches me send it before squealing. She takes my hands in hers and starts swinging them while we spin in a circle together. "I'm going to get paid to go to Taylor Swift's concerts!" I shout, jumping in and down in the swimsuit I just tanned in after being out onto the boat.

I set my phone down on the counter face down so I don't wait for her read receipts to say she read my message. Because once I do that I'll wait for bubbles to pop up before her response shows up on my screen. I cannot sit here and watch my screen so I turn over my shoulder and ask Jack very nicely if we can go out to lunch to get my mind off of Taylor Swift.
