Most mornings I lay in bed with Jack until we both decide it's time to break away from our little bubble and join the rest of our friends downstairs. But this morning I have my back turned to him as I giggle and smile at the texts popping up on my phone screen. I try muffling my laughter but it still wakes my boyfriend up.

Despite only just waking up, his sleepy haze doesn't stop him from jumping into light and harmless jealousy. "Who has you smiling and giggling like that at eight in the fucking morning?" He bites, rubbing his eyes as he slowly uses his elbow to press his body up from his spot in bed. "Your mom." I answer with another smile watching him grow slightly frustrated with me.

He tilts his head to the left and stares at me with his lips pressed together. "Seriously Jo, who is it?" He asks gently, not wanting to pry and be that guy but I can see how he thought I was kidding. "Literally your mom. Did you know she's coming today?" I ask, showing him my phone as he reads her contact name and texts that were making me laugh while he was waking up.

"Today? What? I had no idea she was coming!" he says, jumping out of bed to open the bedroom door in nothing but his boxers. He keeps his body in the room and only pokes his head out to shout, "Did you guys know Mom was coming today?" He waits for a response and only hears my brother say, "I don't have a mom that wasn't directed at me. I think he was talking about the mom he calls mom." I chuckle at Theo's response and hear two other voices share their confusion.

Luke lets out a distressed groan and says, "No I did not. We have to clean!" He says moving the dining table. Even though I can't see that he did that I heard his knees knock into the wood and the sound of the table moving against the floors. "One time Mom surprised Luke in Michigan and lectured him for thirty minutes about his dirty room, so ever since then he cleans like a monster." Jack tells me I slide on my sweatpants and start making our bed.

When I leave the room Luke is running upstairs with a tub of cleaning supplies and rushes up to the upstairs bathroom. "How can I help?" I ask, watching him spray some glass cleaner on the mirror. He aggressively wipes the mirror with a wipe and gives me two tasks to do while he cleans the bathrooms and floors.

I race down the stairs to the kitchen to grab some breakfast before washing all the dishes and cleaning the refrigerator, pantry, and taking out the trash. Once the kitchen is glistening I move to the dining room and water the plants before cleaning the table with something that won't damage the wood.

After completing the tasks Luke gave me I wipe the beads of sweat off of my forehead and run back upstairs to see Jack finishing up with the vacuum. "I'm glad he's a good cleaner since he's going to be my roommate." Jack says, wrapping the cord around his hand before looping the plug through.

"I'm sure he will definitely come in handy." I laugh, moving to the restroom to take a quick shower before Jack and I head to the grocery store to pick up a few things for tonight. I know the guys briefly mentioned wanting to make steak tonight in between all of the cleaning, so we'll have to go get some meat along with some air fresheners.

I move fast after getting out of the shower so I don't put us behind schedule and tug on some jeans, and a white tank top before putting a bow in my hair in a half up half down hairstyle once my hair dries. I open the bathroom door to see my boyfriend looking for his car keys, pushing one of my baseball caps onto his head.
