Bang, bang, bang.

The sound continued, getting louder with each step Percy took. His breathing quickened. Good thing he wasn't Adam; the kid in his class who had asthma and always got into fights.

My mom better not find out about me going here...

The screams got a little less muffled as he got closer, just like the pounding on the door. Percy couldn't see much. Even though it was day, the alleyway made it look like a whole different world where it is always dark or night. It creeped him out. The pounding door was so close, Percy could almost feel the ground shaking beneath his feet. Whoever it was, they really wanted to be found. What if they are a criminal? Or a monster? Something out to get him, or sent from Kronos? Percy's thoughts were spiraling. Focus!  He told himself. He turned to his right, and stared at the pounding door. The screams were only muffled a little bit now that he was in front of the door. Just open it. They could need help.  And with that, he stepped forward trying to open the door.

Locked.

"Well that's just great.."  He mumbled to himself, thinking of what to do next.

"HELLO?! IS SOMEONE THERE? CAN YOU HEAR ME?? PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR! PLE-"

The voice cut off.

Percy's ADHD brain went blank. His whole body felt paralyzed. He couldn't move. He had goosebumps all over his body. He was shaking. He held his breath and backed away from the door unconsciously. He came to his senses when his back hit the brick wall behind him. I have to get out of here. I have to go to school. His brain tried to tell him, hoping he would leave. Percy didn't want to be there. That was obvious. But his body wouldn't listen to him. Instead, he stepped forward again, landing in front of the door. He grabbed his pen. He knew he shouldn't be using it for things in public. Or for anything not urgent. But this seemed important to him. He slid the cap off, and slowly started burning open a hole in the metal door. It burned very easily to Percy's surprise. He climbed through the hole, careful not to touch any of the hot edges. Holding his sword in a ready position, he looked around. The sword doubled as a light source, which turned out to be rather convenient for Percy's situation. He didn't know if he should call out for somebody or if that would give him away. That could lead to more danger.

"Hello?"

Damn it.

No response.

(This one will probably be a few parts because I like the cliffhangers lol. I also don't have a planned story layout thing for this.)
