It was a busy Friday afternoon. Y/n was waiting for her brother to pick her up from school. He was taking longer than usual due to traffic. She sat down at the edge of the curb, scrolling through TikTok and YouTube Shorts. She had forgotten her headphones in her brother's car when she got to school, so she had to keep her phone on mute. "Hey- get off of me!" A boy spoke in a loud voice behind Y/n. The voice had been distant, but she still heard it. Her head snapped around to look at the boy. It wasn't just one boy though, there were 2 others. She recognized one of them. It was her least favourite cousin, Chuck. Sigh.

"Chuck? What are you doing?" She called out, slowly standing up and walking over to the three boys. Chuck tried to explain but he only ended up being a stuttering mess. "Are you bullying this kid? Oh, you're in so much trouble. If I tell you're mom, you won't be allowed to leave the house for at least two months!" Y/n said, laughing after each word. "Wait. Aren't you Adam? Adam Reed?" She asked the boy who was being pinned to the brick wall. He nodded slowly, struggling to breathe. "Hm. Well, Chuck is a liar too. I'll have to add that when I tell her!" She added. "No! Don't tell her. Come on Ray." Chuck started pulling Ray by his arm. Ray protested against this action. "Hey! Let go of me Chuck! Ugh-" Eventually, he gave up.

Sigh.

"Are you okay Adam?" Y/n asked the boy; who was now sitting on the floor with his legs sticking out infront of him. "Inha- in- i-" Oh.
Y/n pulled his backpack off of him and searched for his inhaler. Finally, after searching for 2 minutes, she found it.

Something about Y/n, she has Asthma. She doesn't tell anyone, so only her parents know: although she saved up enough money to buy the inhaler herself. She is quite intelligent, even if her teachers disagree.
Y/n turned his face towards her, placing the inhaler between his lips. "Breathe out." She said. He did as he was told. "Now breathe in." And Adam did just that once he heard the click. They did this process another time. Soon enough, Adam could breathe. "Thanks. But how did you know how to use an inhaler?" The smaller boy asked. "I uh- gotta go! My brother is supposed to pick me up. If I'm late, he'll be upset. Bye!" Y/n stammered, waving Adam goodbye.
