There never seems to be enough
Of the light that shines on the world
That makes it look the way it does through the lenses of a camera
When it's pointed at a bright sunny bay
Or a shiny pearl
Too many days the light doesn't hit
The way it seems it should
So the feeling the scenery seems to want to provoke
Is one of a lesser mold and in want of a change
If only, if only it could
It takes too long for the light to shift
And when it does it plays its tricks
Sometimes it seems to be in a frenzied wet rush
With peaceful little candles inside burning down to the wick
But the light chooses to brighten the days
When it seems the world should be dark
My emotions will sway for the light and in a way
I'm glad for that balance in my life——
